Re: New Hypernia Server Stress Test : Thu 19th Apr, 2007 @ 9PM EDT
I didn't play for a particularly long time, but my ping was around 55mS on the test server and it is usually about 88mS, so it appears to be better in that metric. But, I didn't really notice the gameplay feeling any better or worse over the normal server, in general. There was one period of about 30 seconds where everyone was getting bad lag, enough that we were talking about it over squad voip. On the whole, though, things were smooth.

My ping was better than the usual server, and my experience was generally positive. Lag spikes here and there, but nothing too outrageous on my end. In Titan, I can report many of the same issues that other people saw, but that's Titan for you.

My ping was higher by about 20ms. However, the game ran much smoother apart for the lagged "You got a revive score!" messages which appeared a few seconds after they should have.

Played on the new server tonight and got a couple moments of weird lag spikes. Once while driving a tank and once while commanding. I was commanding on camp Gibralter and The game stoped with the "Trying to connect to the server" message for about a minute or two. The worse part was a squad broke through while I was stuck in limbo.

I noticed an additional amount of lag compared to the last test. The most obvious difference was the fact that anytime I issued an order as a Squad Leader it would take a consistent two or three seconds to process. This same action is virtually simultaneous on the Conquest server.

Lagged like Zoopy once, later lagged again and was discoed. Other than that, my ping was generally lower than the main Conquest.
Verdict: I think the stress test went fairly well. I didn't get stressed out at all...I just reconnected and it was all good.
