Smile A question about TG 7th, 9th, and 3rd

I was wondering on how these in house squads recruit other members? Do you have to put in a form, and try out or just be invited to the squad. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: A question about TG 7th, 9th, and 3rd

Well the 9th has had various policies, but right now we're mostly invite only. that said, expressing interest to Lorax or Pfeil via PM wouldn't be a bad idea to let us know you're out there looking.

But more than that, we only really look at Supporting members as you have to be a supporting member to be in an in-house squad. The exception to this are the Irregulars.

Re: A question about TG 7th, 9th, and 3rd

the 7th, 3rd and the 9th are most active in-house squads for bf2142. according to the wiki of the 9th, they are not recruiting (but see the above post) the 7th seems to recruit on an invite basis.
The 3rd is still looking for some players to round out our roster.
it is also a good idea to check out the irregulars. they are a more informal in house sqaud that does not have a supporting member requirement.

if all else fails, you could start your own in house squad assuming you become a supporting member

Re: A question about TG 7th, 9th, and 3rd

I will comment for no squad in particular and say this:
1. Play with the squad members whenever you get a chance
2. Be a good team player and communicator
3. PM one of the regulars with which you've played and ask politely if they are recruiting new members

When you do number 3, your name will come up in their forum. If nobody knows who you are, then you won't get in. That's why you need to do 1 and 2 first.

Most squads are not primarily concerned with the points you put on the board. Focus on teamwork over points.

Re: A question about TG 7th, 9th, and 3rd

icky is absolutely right in his last comment. if you just killwhore, you're never going to be recognized for being a valuable player by the squads. but following orders, playing your heart out and working with your squad and team will earn you brownie points.

keep in mind though, that to join one of the squads, with the exception of the Irregulars, you must be a supporting member (see the link in my sig). it's not expensive, you get a lot of perks for it and it really helps support the community financially. this is an expensive place to run, ask apophis!

As Ferris said, icky is 100% correct. Though the 9th may not be actively recruiting, our eyes are still open and every now and then we start talking about having a fun round or night with such and such (see icky quote above, specifically points 1 and 2). And if that happens a few times then we may ask our members how they feel about the person in question and, barring no glaring issues, an invite is usually extended and we take it from there. If we cared at all about stats, I'd be in a heap of trouble...

Yup. The more fun we have with you, the more likely we are to want you. How good you are is connected to that because how much fun we have is largely decided by how much butt our squad kicks at any given point in time.

This may be true sometimes, but isn't always the case... There have been many rounds were we've been on the receiving end of a nasty butt whooping posting 5's on the scoreboard and still had a great time...

Maturaty and teamwork are the fundamental keys. Your not going to kick ass every round, and if you do whats the fun in that? Long as you have fun every round with your battle brothers, then you know that's where you belong.
