Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
Not being able to revive a "true head shot" makes sense. Only in a TG forum would I be able to say and have everybody truly understand that this mode of operation simulates reality.
Having done some "semi-professional sniping" and knowing what a .308 round (let alone the 50 cal Barret!) does to the human skull at 300-600 yards, trust me - there'd be no saving the target. I've seen discussions of "where a kit vs. the body lands at death" in this thread being the determining factor as to whether or not a soldier could be revived. Thinking of it from a "psuedo-reality" perspective, think about how the process works on the real battlefield. How much damage can the human body withstand before the "normal amount of medical attention" can save life. Normal in this case as defined as immediate treatment by the medic, then followed up with a MASH level unit and post operative care over some days and weeks. Given the "time compressed" nature of the FPS, the defibrillator and a few seconds then becomes the equivalent to all the aforementioned care. To sum it up - if you sustain too much or the wrong kind of damage for a "reality based" life saving to take place, then so it should go in the FPS. Then again, you know what they say about opinions and something else - everybody has one :-) CYA all on the battlefield!

Yeah...I had my hopes and dreams crushed when I found out there would be no fatal headshots.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
I think snipers are whiney.
Every other kit has times when they're not that effective and those players can pick up a more useful kit and move on with life. Snipers blame game balance. Sure, a tank shell to the face isn't fatal either but a sniper round is special. ![]()

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
You are right, we are the biggest wimps on the field. I mean...we've been given a gun that is capable of killing a person with a SINGLE SHOT...problem is, if you arent being effective, the only person to blame is yourself. That is just too hard on them.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
I will throw out a bitchy comment as a sniper though. About one out of ten shots doesn't hit for no reason at all. The shot before just hit, and now I have to shoot again because I didn't hit the head, but it just doesn't hit. The crosshair is completely around their face, so it really shouldn't miss. I dunno.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
If you watch the crosshairs closely, they do need time to settle just like every other gun. What you have described happens to me when I get over excited and dont wait for the gun to calm down, or my lag has my shooting blanks. Other than that...you're just missing

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
Oh, I know about the settling and stuff. Its just the lag shooting blanks as you said. Just something I think that shouldn't be still in game this long after release, like the majority of issues.
I still get destroyed by my Otus even after they did a lot to fix it. Says it supposed to spawn in higher to not be inside of you, false!!!

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
I've had the shoot and no hit situation happen also. Even when I am going for a second shoot just to hit the body. It is not a blank and there is still another round in the clip. I wish they would get the gun to reload faster, it takes forever.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
Well, blank as in, it fires, you're down another bullet, but no shot went down your scope/no hit or miss.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots
If someone's body is "stuck" in a wall or crate or something and unrevivable, you can drop a medpack on top of them and they will be moved up out of whatever they are stuck in. Then you can rez them.
