1.25 and unrevivable headshots

Rumor has it that, since 1.25, a casualty of a sniper headshot cannot be revived.
Anyone know for sure?

Hm! I hope it's true but I'd have thought they'd announce a huge change in game balance like this.

Think it was just something someone wanted included on these forums, but didn't see anything in the release notes about it.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

Maybe their bodies were oddly positioned?

One thing that got me twice last night was I just straight up died randomly. Checked console and "[TG-Irr] Anospa is no more" was sitting there in the black and white. Kinda frustrating, and I swear this happens to me about once a week.

Adding unrevivable headshots wouldn't be such a bad addition. Would be a better way for recon to help their team.

I still think they should add unrevivable knifes.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

headshots have resulted in unrevivable corpses on occasion. this is due to the velocity of the bullet and where it hits.

when it hits the head, the body is thrown back some distance from the spot where it died. if the body is too far from its kit, the body can not be revived.
hs sniping someone when they are on top of a hill makes the unrevive more likely.

if you hs somone with a sniper rifle, even once, and they can be revived, i highly doubt that some change took place in the patch. to make sniper hs unrivivalble sometimes is just too goofy for EA.

and such a significant change would have been mentioned in the patch release notes.

Good idea. Better idea... give us a new unlock:the spoon! Then you can kill someone by cutting their heart out and they become unrevivable. eff tee dubya.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

I was having more problems than usual reviving last night. Should I be aiming for a particular part of the body? I usually go for the chest from a kneeling position, but it wasn't woking more than half the time. I don't want to look like a freak trying to zap a corpse in the bangers and mash.

I think it is just a EA goof, I've been revived a couple of times after sliding all the down a hill while trying to assualt the control post. Sometimes revives just don't work for some reason.

I don't think you have to aim for any particular part. I usually don't even get close enough to tell really I just aim at them. If it doesn't work I move a little closer, although sometimes you have to be right on top of them. I've been killed one too many times reviving, just to have the revived person running off (even though more than like he was a medic or could do a kit change). Getting too close to a corpse if just asking for rockets from the grassy knoll.
MEDIC?

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

I never understood how defiblerating a soldier's heart saved him from a gun shot wound (especially to the head[even more so with the Zeller])...I like it, people in this game have never really protected their heads well, and this could create a bit more consideration (and frustration).
I got a mixed opinion, but I think it's alright.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

Another thing that you guys havent mentioned is that when you die, you dont instantly drop your kit. When you die your person holds onto the kit for two seconds then he drops it. This is made so if you got shot blown to bits and your boddy fly's a certain distance, you'll drop your kit where you landed and not where you died. But if you land, and your body is still in motion, then THERE's the possibility of being to far away from your kit (or anybody else's for that matter) to be revived. Thats is what I strongly belive where the problem lies.

Yea, I agree with Maxx, the kit must stay with you for a second or two.

Re: 1.25 and unrevivable headshots

In my experience when reviving people when they are too far from their kit, a kit is duplicated when they are revived on their position. I'm sure I have seen a kit on the ground after everyone has been revived up.
