This may be a little early in the week to post this but I want to get the ball rolling.
I was looking at the schedule and I see that one of the biggest matches of the season is this week, 9th vs 3rd. This should be a great game on one of everyones favorite maps, Cerbere Landing, against 2 of TG's largest 2142 in- house squads.
Since it is obviously going to be hosted on one of our servers I was hoping that who ever is in charge of setting this up could try to get battle recorder working. I know me and plenty of other people in the community would love to watch it. Thanks in advance and good luck to both teams.
I do not mind having spectators with fraps in game as well, if somone wants to shoutcast it that would be fine too. there is no spectater slot in 2142 though right? so the spawn screen would keep popping up? I am going to post something about this weeks matches today.
And yes this is an epic match

So much so that we may not have to post the results.(sic) The outcome will have such a huge impact on reality that I expect all of those not participating to be overcome with emotion and experience a sudden revelation as to the outcome (similar to the apostles of old).
Also, when you are browsing the servers and click the arrow icon to see who is in it. There is a category for spectators...so there may room for them.

Reason: added the last part.
While a match on the Battlefield Conquest League schedule we are looking forward to playing against our fellow Tactical Gamer members, I am not sure that this exactly qualifies as an “epic” event. Just to clarify a few details, though, the match will be hosted on one of the BFCL servers. Battlefield Recorder should be enabled, as well, but the playback files will not be readily available for downloading off of the server.
I believe it was Damonte who discovered this last week but if you have the server's ip address you can monitor the matches using game-monitor.com. You can only see the team and player scores though no details.
Also anyone that played in the match can download the battle recorder files from the game. Once downloaded they save in "My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Default\demos" so they could upload them to the web to share for everyone else.

assuming we have battlerecorder files, if the 9th requests that these remain private for a tactical advantage in future bfcl matches we will honor that.

I am sure the after-action report(s) on the match will contain plenty of detail for anyone curious about its outcome. The Battle Recorder files could be used to compile a highlight reel to enhance these, if anyone participating in the match wishes to make one. This might be the better option, since I think most people would be bored to death watching a half hour of me running for cover from Lorax74’s friendly rounds.
Good thing I'm not the one who uses explosive barrels for cover and then proceeds to try and poke eyes holes out of said barrels, with bullets, from no more from 6 inches away...
if battle recorder is on, we should just be able to go into the game and download them. I would probably do a fraps run through it or just make them available.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
