    More Maps The Pressure Rising

    Hello,
Hey everyone this is|TG Irr| Chiefmedicman, the loyal TG member and squaldleader of the CHIEFSQD, infamouse squad of misfits whom with teamwork tactical gaming and a smooth hand can outbeat even the most elite groups of TG. Coming with ya with some rumors and thoughts of those whom play the TG Conquest maps often. During my countless hours if not days of playing on the TG conquest server I have become quite stagnant in the map rotation. I was thinking of the monotony, and how wonderful it would be if more maps were thrown into the rotatation to add a little more excitiment to the gamplay experiment. When at the scrimmage and all admins were on I asked "Hey we ever going to have a better rotation?" The response was quick and simple with " there arent alot of maps what more do you want?" Well that answer has not satisfied me, I want to know what about Shihua Tablet or Minks or the other ones. They might be only a couple more maps, but they are some that I am not fully aware of or others. I want to also say that there are ribbons and rewards that need these so called missing maps to be achieved. In my personal opinion and I quote myself "You can not fully be a tactical gamer, without being fully tactical with all the maps". One last thing to my thought if we were ever to scrimmage or be in a tournament with another team, then wouldnt it be best we were playing those maps all along instead of just practicing a couple of weeks or days before? Well thank you for listening to my mumbo jumbo, but I wouldnt have posted this if this was a thought that I shared alone.
    Thanks alot,
    |TG Irr| Chiefmedicman

I would like to see more and different size maps. Maybe we should start a poll to see how many people want more maps and who don't want more maps, just an idea.

Verdun already clears 25% of the server when it comes up in rotation, Sidi is marginally better. Minsk can be ok on a pub server where defense is a little looser but it would be a nightmare to break through the initial chokepoint on a TG server. Shihua suffers from a lot of the same issues as Verdun.

I wouldn't mind seeing Leipzig or Bavaria in rotation on the conquest server but I don't know if there are still a lot of people who don't own NS so that might not be practical.

    Just my thoughts:
    • Minsk - I never liked Minsk much because it was impossible to get through the choke point.
    • Shihua - I only ever played a couple of rounds on this maps but it seemed ok, not sure why this isn't in rotation.
    • Verdun - Hate it, hate it, hate it. (Don't really know why though...)
    • Sidi - Ok, but I never liked it that much.
    • NS maps - Yes please.

Re: More Maps The Pressure Rising

I feel the Administrators have established a solid map rotation for the Conquest server. Over the last few months, they have used several different combinations and even tried to mix in a few Titan rounds, but none of these changes really seemed to catch on with the community. The current configuration, however monotonous it can seem to those of us who play it on a regular basis, has kept the server full and helped it gain a strong player base.

If someone is looking for a real change of pace, I recommend playing a few rounds on the Northern Strike server. This booster pack includes three additional maps that are totally different than those found on the Conquest server. These include a bridge, a nighttime setting, and a large cliff that must be scaled by using pods. This server might not be as popular, but is perfect for anyone not interested in attacking Toll Station on Camp Gibraltar for the fifth time in a single night.

I think the game-monitor.com daily graph pretty much says it all about the NS server:

Seeding attempts have been futile. I don't think the second server is ever going to see much action...

agreed. as I said before, if NS is/was ever going to work, it needs to be intermeshed with the main server.

Verdun is a solid, and even balanced map. I like it. I love Suez as well. Sidi is another balanced map, but some reason I never have to much fun on it.

I would hate to see this become a debate about the Northern Strike server. I simply mentioned it as an alternative to changing the Conquest server’s rotation. Tanknation brought up a valid point and I felt it was only appropriate to provide another solution, since I did not agree with him.

Verdun can be a lotta fun, same with Suez Canal, but Sidi just hit its low for me lately. Minsk can be a fun time too, hard, but hey, isn't Berlin's first part hard too?

Wish more people would play NS, the maps have a lot to work with if played well I think.

Overall, I am pleased with the map rotation on the main server. As for
the NS server, maybe mixing in a few vanilla maps that arn't on the main
    server would help.

I agree. I think the current rotation is the best balance. We got rid of the other maps from experience of them not working. Though I sometime drop off when it's getting late and Verdun pops up, I would hate to get rid of it.

Other than putting NS maps in the rotation I am happy with it as is.

That would be horrible. The maps are not in the rotation because people didnt' want to play them. Imagine logging in to play NS and getting stuck on a map like Minsk or we finally get it seeded and the first NS map is over and one of those other mapse come up. I would bet anything the server would clear pretty quick. Maybe mix in some of the old favorites if anything.

Whenever this topic comes up I try and thank the admins for the crazy amount of work that goes into making TG such a great place to be. You guys do a great job balancing the desires of the community.

Personally, I think the map rotation is great the way it is. Infantry heavy favorites with a sprinkling of the preferred vehicle maps tossed in to add flavor for those so inclined. It may seem limited, but I believe it's a great mix.

I think keep the conquest server the same, but for the NS server, add some of the conquest maps with the NS maps. This will allow for the people without NS to play on a server which wont kick them for not having them, but the people with the NS maps to play on a server with them.
