Just a little reminder for those folks who have trouble reading the stickies. Specifically the one labelled Reporting Infractions.

I've been seeing a disturbing chat trend among our players along the lines of:

|TG| VigilanteJustice > "Get out of the UCB or you will be banned!"
|TG| SelfProclaimedAdmin > "Stop bunny hopping or you will be kicked!"

... and other such nonsense.

The admins decide what action to take based on player reports. This does not include antagonising people with idle threats on which you have neither the right nor the capacity to act.

Please read the thread linked above carefully for how best to handle issues relating to infractions. Even if an admin is not around at the time, we have the ability to act retrospectively on serious infractions.

Please refrain from spreading your own form of hot-air vigilante justice. It just makes you look like an idiot when nothing happens and will likely provoke a less than favourable response from the offending party.

Suggested alternatives:

|TG| IReadStickies > "LEETNOOB, UCB CAMPING IS AGAINST THE RULES ON THIS SERVER."
|TG| IMakeConciseReports > "REPORTING: LEETNOOB FOR UCB CAMPING."

Please read the above as many times as you need to help you understand. We don't need Internet tough guys making threats they can't act upon. We need more reports that follow the guidelines outlined above.

Ah well, I have done it. We do need more daytime admins on though. Seems as though early afternoon the idiots come out.

Its easy to get frustrated. It is also a PITA to take down names, infractions, their DOB, SSN and all that other bull and PM an admin taking away from my own gameplay to deal with these nubs. I will try to do it more often, but one reason I have held back is you would prob. get an almost daily report with multiple names though.

You do realize that that is exactly the kind of thing our admins have to go through right? They do it for the benefit of the community and integrity of the server. Sometimes that means sacrificing their own gameplay. I for one and thankful for them, since they keep it so the rest of us only have to report it.

They do a great job. I just said we probably need some more that play during the late morning and early afternoon.

I have seen this all to much and frown upon it. I have asked many times, Please in chat say the persons name and the offense!

I do watch some days from work. I can't run teamspeak but I do watch the chat as much as I can. This is for those morning times where there is no admin on. Also even if I'm out on a job, Still say it in chat. We do back check logs and make of note of people who make repeated offenses. Yes, you will get killed making a report. It might kill your squad. It might get your tank blowen up, You'll lose a flag. In the end, when you made that report on the next 50 people, The server is going to be a much better place to play. It might even attract a eroupe crowd if we clean up that morning shift.

Yeah, I did this a bit today with their name and what they were doing and such. Just take a second to find their name, find cover, and quickly type it up. If you can remember their name for 5 seconds, you probably won't even get killed, depending on what they're doing.

May I suggest that you take a screen shot of the warning or the players name in the UCB if possible. Then you can go back and reference it after the game and right a report. EX:

TGPLAYER: NOOBPLAYER suicide tactics are against the rules

SS that and reference it afterwards.

My HD won't have the space! Heh Just kidding. It's really not bad at all, and I usually play during the day when admins aren't on as much.

That's a pretty good idea, though. Especially if you can get a screenshot of them performing the act. It'll give the admins proof of the infraction, as well.

I've accidentally done this a few times in the past where I would warn people, but also tell them they'll be kicked or whatever.

After the first few times, I would just warn them with the following: "[name], stealing assets from the other team's base is not allowed.", "[name], please don't punish me for an accidental teamkill.", "[name], please don't use that kind of language, it's not very polite.", etc.

In the future, i'll try to report people more accurately and let the admins decide what to do. I still feel somewhat inclined to give a friendly warning the first violation, though.

It is not nearly the headache it was in the begining guys. Things have calmed down quite a bit. As a bonus, we now have additional in game "messages" (complimnents of Bomb) to aid in our fight against rampant smacktardery!!!

So feel free to report the bums however you can!!! I'm dying to test out the new commands!
