This has been my experience too. It's scary how well placed Voss bursts can decapitate multiple enemies, without having to reload.

I know when I'm on the other end of instant-death-encounters, that the enemy went down because I shot them in the face, whereas they either missed me or hit my body.

Just a question, and it's not aimed at anyone I know in all honesty but: are there "cracks" on the internet that people download that make your weapon one-shot killers? Is there anyone here that has been a victim of this? or am I just worrying over nothing after seeing a video of the various cracks that are out there?

I think there are forms of aimbots and cheats out there for pretty much every popular game you can think of nowadays. The question is: do they work on ranked/PB servers? I can't say I've ever run into anyone in BF2142 that I've suspected of running some sort of aimbot. I have seen some dumb commander hacks but they tend to be fairly obvious i.e. artying before the round starts, endless arties etc.

aimbots tend to be very obvious. yes they exist. you can tell if somone is using them usually just by looking at the BR file and the speed with which they aquire targets and move to the next target. Just because someone has high accuracy, does not mean they are hacking. With the admin presence here on TG, and how we get to know our players, I dont think aimbot hacking is something that needs to be worried about.

There is a glitch were someone can VERY quickly resupply their assets, no hacks needed. They can get arty's and whatnot every 15 secs or so.

That's the one I am talking about. It also allows them to arty before the round starts.

You say "glitch", so I assume it's actually an exploit and not an outright hack. Would that be correct?

I'm pretty sure that I've been on the receiving end of this "glitch" at one point or another, don't recall the server though...

Yeah, it's an exploit. Not a hack, anyone can do it.

"glitch" means something different to me. Video artifacting when your vid card overheats is an example of a glitch. I don't know what you think "hack" implies but apparently it's something different too.

Common understanding of those terms:

Glitch, some type of hiccup or messup in a program that causes some type of video problem or negative effect.

Exploit, turning some type of glitch or other problem in a game to your own advantage.

Hack, actively changing config files or other files to give you some type of advantage over other players.

At least thats what I think most people see these terms as.

I'm still appreciating the irony of you making this thread superfast!

True. Sun Tzu did all his pointing with a point-ed stick. I am amazed at how quickly people can kill me with a few bullets too.

I must say though, it really ticks me off when people are quick to accuse people of hackery. This one time on the NS Server, I was fighting a walker as an Engie, and he just put his defense up. All I did was wait till it went down, and the moment it did, I blew him up with a missile. He would take up 10 lines of in game chat about how I hacked and how he'd report me to EA. Sigh...

Heh, gotta love that. Everytime I fool around with HL2DM, this happens, or any CS server for anyone better than little idiots running around. Quite comical in the end though.

There needs to be an off-line trainer where you can swing around a corner and practice your reaction firing on a stationary bot repeatedly. Like practice balls for your golf swing.
