    Too Good?

Okay, so I got kicked/banned from a server because "nobody is THAT GOOD." I was wondering how many members of TG have had the same experience? Just for a point of reference (not bragging here) here's the text from the thread. I would love to hear stories from the TG crew as well.

I was in a squad with gfrag and his buddy (can't remember name) and I was holding hall 2 extremely well. Maybe I just pissed off an AOW guy for stopping all waves of their squad while solo, but they got pissed and banned me without any kind of warning, heads up, nothing.

    Here's what happened;

I was playing as a sniper with a standard sniper rifle. The squad would rush in waves, and I would headshot each member of the squad as they rushed the hall, headshot their medics, and headshot their revives. When they finally got past my barrage of headshots, I blew my RDX and wiped their squad a 3rd time. Then I started headshotting again, then got kicked/banned with no explanation.

    What gives?

I was the person who banned you.

Now you were using the Morretti sniper rifle and every time any 1 who came close to you, was killed with 1 shot every time, 3 of my squad members made the same comment, that you killed them with 1 hit many times.

Now 4 ppl ran down corr 2 at the same time (including me) you killed all 4 with in 4 seconds. In a nutshell your NOT THAT GOOD, NOBODY IS.

I will talk to the others but untill then the ban stands

nobody is that good. you can't even chamber the next round that fast much less make them all head shots . You need to explain just how you could do this without cheating.

That's the reason I use the Moretti or the Park in situations where I need to get off a lot of shots, in comparison with the Zeller, which I use when I have more leisure time to pick off my targets.

Basically, yes that was all me, no hacks, and that was the standard chamber time of that gun. Basically, you all ran in at the same height, there was no variance in your squad positioning. Everyone was standing, making it easy for me to move from one target to another. If a squad had some standing, some crouching, and some laying down, it takes probably a half second longer for me to line up that shot.

Plus, everyone is so afraid of APM mines at the entrance to the halls, now everyone in BF2142 takes it slow when entering halls (especially the long halls) making it easier to get off multiple headshots. You can bet I take advantage of the psychology of this.

Of course I took out every single member with 1 hit, as every single hit was a headshot, all nicely lined up like ducks in a row, as mentioned above.

I took out 2 waves of your squad running in, including nailing the fresh revives (not that hard) and the medics reviving him (not that hard either.) Then in the 3rd wave, I blew RDX because I had to reload, killing your entire squad in that wave. Then, in the 4th wave, I was headshotting everyone again and got kicked/banned.

"Now 4 ppl ran down corr 2 at the same time (including me) you killed all 4 with in 4 seconds. In a nutshell your NOT THAT GOOD, NOBODY IS. "

"nobody is that good. you can't even chamber the next round that fast much less make them all head shots . You need to explain just how you could do this without cheating."

That's how I did it. Everyone stood in a nice line, and stayed parked where I could shoot them one after another. When I got rushed, I simply blew the RDX lining the hall, giving me time to reload for the next round. Plus, at times I had backup covering me with Ganz's and such while I reloaded, forcing you guys to keep your heads low at other times, also providing nice slow moving targets. I would shoot, duck and chamber, pop up and shoot, duck and chamber, rinse repeat, then stay down for a reload. Generally, I'm dealing with ping of 150+ with most servers, so I get used to compensating for lag and get very quick on the reaction time. I believe your server was 87 ping or something, which makes the player movement far easier to react to.

No cheating involved, just pure sniping, and knowing where my targets are going to be from experience. Trust me, I detest cheaters. This is why I like the MIA servers for the most part, they're pretty clean compared to most of the other servers where I have to deal with other players having aimbots, the 'color hack' which paints other players in bright colors that can be seen through walls, and fog hacks. Nothing pisses me off more than being sniped by someone who can see me through fog, and I can't snipe them back because I can't see through fog. I'll take the game as it was presented to me, no modification or hacks, thank you very much.

So, to summarize, no I don't cheat, every single bullet your team took was legit, and apparently, I am that good, although I don't think about it too much, it's just what I love to do. Snipe. I've never claimed to be that good, but thanks for the compliment.

    Re: Too Good?

Skipping past the "three pages of quoted, mostly irrelvant text followed by further whining and incredulity" and getting to the question -- no that hasn't ever happened to me.

See, there's this concept we call "team work." I know it may seem really foreign to you, but it works really well. You see, what happens is, you get six or so people together, and they all work on one task. And then because there are medics and a variety of other classes, they all stay alive and acomplish the objective.
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous mate, I agree, but more than one person for the task really does get the job done. Crazy stuff, eh?
Try looking into it, it might make people like you more -- perhaps even enough to not ban you from their servers!

I don't know who has this quoted in their sig but I think it's perfect for here:

"Playing on public servers is like playing BF2142 on easy mode."

QFT. It's funny, everyone who plays with me knows that i'm a freaking bullet sponge. I die A LOT. But thats here. When I go on pub raids, its like shooting fish in a barrel. I've been banned from several servers and been reported to EA twice for suspected "hacks". I simply invite them to come play the game at a higher level if they ever want to improve. It's that simple.

Then I guess you'll be happy to know that I had a great SL for this game who was really pleased with my performance, liked how I followed orders, and liked how I did the really crappy work like guarding fairly quiet silos and halls while they got to do the fun stuff like run around the map in armor capping silos and killing other players. He knew my playstyle, liked it, and assigned me jobs on it which I followed to the letter. I was in the hall solo most of the time because they were capping silos, and would on occasion pop up, give me some ammo or fire support, and then go back to the exciting work.

99% of the time I'm in a squad, and I prefer it that way.

Hallway fights really are like fish in a barrel for someone who knows the psychology of the enemy, and if you predict their movements correctly. These guys stayed bunched up most of the time, making them easy pickin's. And when they got smart and spread out, and it got too hot for me to simply shoot, I simply blew the RDX that lined the entire hallway, giving my squad enough time to get to my hall and back me up for the next wave. By keeping this enemy squad occupied, pissed off, and concentrated on me, my squad was free to do their thing on the ground, and other squads on our team free to attack their titan.

Most of the time, as a Squad Sniper, my job falls into a few categories

    1) defend silos with sniper gun/rdx/apm
    2) kill enemy armor using rdx/camo
    3) kill enemy recon before they blow up friendly armor (snipe them before they get to place and detonate)
    4) harass the enemy, which on pub servers quite often causes an entire armor division to chase you around the map, leaving your armor free to mop up entire enemy squads. Enemy armor is chasing ONE player, and friendly armor is destroying the entire other team.

Being a good sniper and playing on pub servers is comical. You can get some people to do some pretty ridiculous stuff to try and kill you.

Even once on the TG server, Guardian and I were defending junkyard from some of the 3rd and others. We held them off so well that it "forced half of our team to go sniper to kill you two," as Crux (I think it was him) put it. Their revives fell through the floor.

I can't say that's ever happened to me, dangit. But I do find playing on pubs somewhat less challenging. But it's good for the ego.

    Re: Too Good?

see I find that it's both easier and harder for me to play on pub servers. Easier because the players are, on the whole, much worse. I can feel like a god and get the 10 kills in a row award a fair amount without ever going down and having to get revived.

But it's also harder because I've come to rely on squad members for help, revives, supplies, etc. It may be partially because I play pub servers differently (I'm far more likely to rambo in on a pub server). Either way, just using scores, my scores on the TG server are generally better than they are on pub servers. I'll end up killing about the same number, but I usually have fewer deaths on the TG server. I'll also generally have better teamwork stats because I'm more focused on helping my teammates out.

I think one of the things that can make TG harder for players, other than simply playing against better people in general, is that TG requires a lot more multitasking. Squad members are never just expected to go around killing. They're expected to mostly stick with the squad leader, do support functions such as resupplies, revives, heals, motion mines, laying RDX traps, they're expected to spot, communicate with the squad leader, meanwhile ALSO be a killing machine. This is hard for most people at first. It's a lot of things to worry about. It's no wonder that the best squad leaders are also those who have been here for a while: they not only have to do all the things I listed above, but they've got a whole host of other things to do. After a while, it becomes second nature. But that does take most people a while to get used to.

When I play on non TG servers, I tend to stray towards Squadplay, and TexasTeamplayers. Even then, I find the amount of squad help is much less than TG. It is fun though, to test your TG skills in the non TG atmosphere to see how you fare.
