Re: Welcome to TG
Lyra brought a very good point to the table and I been seeing this to much lately.
Lets unlock those squads after we are done our invites. Also 1 man locked squads wont fly. We premote teamwork. We need to show new people how teamwork is played by letting them play with us.The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: Welcome to TG
Good point Lyra,
I won't start another thread just to make my point but there are a lot of 6 man TG squads going around on the server although they are very effective on their own wouldn't it be better to make 2 3 man TG squads and let others join? Under the leadership of a good SL wouldn't 2 squads be more effective even if not filled with players that play together often? This also has the effect of introducing people to the TG way of playing and thinking.
Anyone else think the same?

Re: Welcome to TG
Yes I certainly do Incurable. I think we need to bring back the "Learn TG" squads more than TG-only or locked squads for sure.
I think, because of the amount of smacktards on the server lately (well it's been going on for some time now... a long time) people start thinking that there aren't ANY pubbies left who actually care for teamwork, but there are!
Just give them a chance, I mean if they're rubbish, you can always kick them from the squad but maybe there are some who do listen to orders and who do think the same way we do.
I vote for no more 3/6 TG only locked squads anymore.

Re: Welcome to TG
You hit the nail on this one! Two squads can achieve more than one, even though the one more experienced squad might accomplish their objectives with more easy.
And offcourse people prefer an all TG squad because it should have a higher probability to reach objectives, get kills, do revives, better comms and might be more fun than normal squads.
But running a totally noob team, achiving objectives and learning the TG way to others might just be more fun!
I've adopted some SL'ing skills from Silver (thanks man
) and been SL'ing more lately. And the feeling of achivement when you can learn something away is quite big i tell you!

Re: Welcome to TG
Hehe. That certainly does look bad. If that's the round I remember, I ended up with 4 or 5 in my squad, but definitely did lock it at the start for a couple of 3rd who were joining.
But on the larger picture note, I think we should trust the judgment of the people in question, and admins are there to step in when needed. From personal experience I will occasionally keep a locked 3rd squad with only 3 or 4 people in it if there is something specific we are working on. But this is balanced by the many, many rounds I leave it open and have random people in.
There needs to be balance. That's the overriding issue, and certainly something worth thinking about and if need be, addressing.

Re: Welcome to TG
The only squads that should be locked throughout the course of a round are common speciality squads or the occasional times an in house squad wants to play alone for practice/cohesion purposes. Sniper, assets, gunship...sure we get those. The count has to remain small(locked) to mantain the purpose of the squad, not hurt the rest of the team and focus the teamwork aspect. As for in house squads locking to keep pubs out...this should not be a common thing and is only acceptable if you expect another member to arrive at some point or you are indeed practicing something...especially if the count is 4 or under. TGers should always be mixing in with the public playerbase...if we didn't...none of you guys would be here.
