TGU 2142 Basic Infantry Session 20070818
After a recent hiatus to develop a newly restructured curriculum, TGU is back in action. The first module we will be offering is the 2142 Basic Infantry module. You can find the signup thread in the TGU forums.
This session will be held on August 18 at 7:30PM EDT. All relevant information is present in the signup thread. I will be hosting this module along with Eroak as co-DI. This module is the requirement for the Basic Infantry award. Subsequent sessions will most likely be held at differing times to be more friendly to those in various time-zones.
If you have any questions or comments please keep them to this thread, and leave the signup thread solely for signups. Happy training!

I would love to attend but to early for me, I work weekends, maybe the next will be a bit later in the evening for the west and mountain time zones??

I'm planning on varying times to run these sessions so that a wider audience can attend in general. However, the times on the weekends will most likely be earlier then this, not later. That being said, there may be some weekday times down the road, also. We'll just have to see how things go.
I'm happy to see general interest, even if the time for this session isn't optimal for everyone (not that any given time would be.)

Sounds like fun, and I've always wanted to run through a formal training session with you guys. Unfortunately, I'll be on a project every weekend until after Labor Day. Keep us posted as to the next one, thanks!

There is a day left in the signups for this event. I've compiled the current roster at the tail of that thread, so if you signed up you can see where on the list you are as of now.
Currently, there are 6 priority slots for unafilliated or Irregular folks that are open to be filled if you qualify and want to participate. It's not too late to sign up. I will be finalizing the roster tomorrow.

Im going to be on vacation at that point, but im wondering whether or not these TGU events should have Supporting members getting in first, since most supporting members are veterans, as opposed to many non Supporting members, who are more likely to be new to this. Just saying.

I see what your saying Ice but the problem is that Supporting members actually support the site with money every month. If the benefit of getting "first dibs" at TG events went away then that would affect the whole premise of becoming a supporting member. There has to be some benefits to be a supporting member or there would only be a few.

and not to mention just because someone is a supporting member does not make them a veteran, I have only been playing 2142 for 4 months or so and could really learn a ton from a class like this, just ask my squadmates, they will tell ya!!
