Thanks TG

You've officially ruined normal servers for me. I cant stand the disorganised mess they are. Although when I need to easily boost my kills they are there for me, its like playing against a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off.

Re: Thanks TG

Yeah, this has been pretty much my sentiment since I've joined. I actually wanted to make a thread like this too.
I used to think 64-man Gibraltar pubs were the be-all and end-all of 2142, but since I've played TG, I've just developed a very short fuse to the regular pub stuff. I can't tolerate a SL without a mic, squad members going off doing their own thing, commanders fighting -- that kind of stuff just grinds my gears something fierce. You do find a competent bunch of pubbies with mics every once in a while but even that lasts for a round at most and without proper leadership, even with mics and skill, it just ain't fun and nothing gets done.

One thing that pubs are good for is when you're feeling generally pissy and want some fun. EMP nading a squad that refuses to move, sniping people behind your lines, pillum headshotting, Rorsch kills, leading them into a C4 trap -- fun stuff to do that's just not possible on TG.

Re: Thanks TG

TG is like the Red Pill from the Matrix. Once you go TG, your eyes are open to a true multiplaying experience. So when you do go back to your average run-of-the-mill pub server, it's just never feels the same again...

...but hey, at least now you know kung-fu

TG only forces you to join a squad and unless I'm in a squad with lots of ppl wearing TG tags (which never happens because they are usually locked) it's the same like any 50 ppl public server.

Re: Thanks TG

I'm gonna have to argue that Spartan. The majority of locked squads are usually opened up, or if they remained close, they're for a good reason (specific asset, IHS members working on something or trying out a new member). I'm keeping an eye for you this next week and getting you into a squad, provided we play at the same time.

I can't remeber the last time I even heard someone on a public server use VOIP unless some people followed me to one from my friend list..

Seriously, though, TPE and a few others usually have at least a couple people using VOIP, and some people, if they hear you use it, will start up or at least respond to you in chat. That being said, VOIP chat on the TG servers does tend to be more useful than elsewhere, IMHO.

Re: Thanks TG

I have said this before but restating it on this thread makes sense. We lock our squads at the beginning of rounds to get our squadmates and friends into the squad. It is rare that we have a full squad of 8th members all on at the same time so we almost always have space and love to have people in the squad that want to be in the squad. So, how do you beat the mad rush of button mashers clicking for the one or two spots available once the squad is unlocked? The secret is TeamSpeak. If you see an InHouseSquad playing on the server, jump into their TS channel and ask for an invite, we will do our best to get you in on the next round and I know the other IHS'S will do the same. Best of luck and welcome to TG, we are glad you found us!

I think the biggest thing is that alot of non-TG members just join/create squads so they don't get kicked. There is usually very little teamplay, and never anywhere near the cohesion of TG led squads.

I try to lead squads, but BF dosen't like my mic so I'm a pretty crappy leader (as nobody reads chat).

Pubs can be fun at times. Standing on the East roof from Power Station on Tunis dropping RDX and APM mines on people's heads on a 64 player server can be quite fun on a lunch break.

edit: I'm not sure why I quoted Anospa up there. I meant to quote Original.

I camo on the server when you left :/
Problem is, I'm in London, so I need to be on the server when it's around 2-4 am over here, which is not always possible unless it's weekend.

Hope to see you Friday or Saturay night though

Re: Thanks TG

Sadly, I'm usually not around on weekends. Why don't you get on earlier when its more convenient for you? Most of us TGers are on anywhere from early evening (6PM EST) till 1:30 AM EST.

Re: Thanks TG

*accessEgo(1);*Okay, it's hard enough trying to keep my kill count down to 20 TG per round... just think how hard it would be for me to keep from killing too many (headless) chickens on a Pub server... i'd get accused of using aimbot and wallhack.*accessEgo(0);*

Now I never play on pub servers. I actually find it easier to kill TG people (at least with sniper rifles) because they kneel when they fire (which means less moving of the mouse to keep my reticle on their heads). I think I got DoubleHelix at least 3 times like this with the sniper rifle last night.

Also, i find that, even when you do play with pub players, they are more willing to follow orders and be more of a squad player here than they would on any other server. Pub servers are like shooting fish in a barrel compared to TG. I really haven't gone on any pub servers in a long time to be honest, never felt a need. I get all that i need in TG BF2142 and POE2.
