I didn't really think this was allowed as a member of TG. Does this rule not apply to 2142?

Cool vid though...I like Animation in the beginning.

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

Don't really know, but I know I've been teabagged by admins before. Not saying that is a legit reason to do it. I do not think there is a rule against it and I do not see it as a gray area. I don't really see it as abusive or disrespectful, do you? It just something done in a joking manner. Usually only done to other known TG members but also done to those who run into your whole 6-man squad bearing only knife, RDX, etc. Sometimes someone gets a little carried away (what can I say, we PLAY to have fun and win, sometimes it is easy for guys to get caught up in the fun) and do it to someone we don't know. Doesn't usually happen though as we make sure we know them when we teabag. What fun is it to teabag somebody you don't know, you can't catch up with them in TS or the forums later and joke about it, thats half the fun.

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

I don't believe it's against any of TG's rules per se, but when it's done to someone you don't know or when it's done repeatedly by the same person or persons, then I do feel it infringes on section 1 of the primer. And for the record, doing this to someone you don't know is disrectful, regardless of whether or not you thought they deserved it based on their actions - two wrongs don't make a right.

With that being said, I believe there are rare times when this action might be deemed acceptabled by both parties involved. For example, you are both in TeamSpeak and someone you know well and have often meet on the battlefield (and always gets the better of you EVERY SINGLE TIME) is in there with you. You meet up again and this time you somehow manage to emerge the victor. After the disbelief fades away you quickly run over, tap crounch twice and then wait with baited breath for their reaction on TeamSpeak. That's pretty much the only time that I will EVER teabag anyone.

The very act itself is disrespectful, so odds are someone is going to find it so. Reading the disclaimer found on your Wiki page, it seems that you guys do infact realize that this action might not be "fun" for everyone. On that note, it must be said that I don't believe anyone is saying "stop, don't do it anymore", but they migt be saying "stop showcasing it".

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

The disclaimer was put on the wiki for poeple who think they should run around doing it to everyone they see. We didn't want them thinking we support that. It had nothing to do with the act being "right" or "wrong" but simply the way you go about doing it. Sorry for the miscommunication, we let Mox write that part.

Like I siad in my post I don't think it is disrespectful, it is a virtual charactor on a vitural field. Some poeple take this game too seriously and like I siad we don't do it to poeple we don't know unless they do something really stupid. Maybe our squad doesn't live and die by this game, personally, I think its extremely funny when I or someone in the squad ends up getting teabagged by someone.

To sums things up, if TG sees it as a gray area, let us know. PM me, mox, rage, thedogwarrior, or insunabuns and we will talk about with an admin.

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

A certain amount of goofyness is allowed under some curcumstances. Teabagging, going for the knife kill etc are not against rules. It is when the teabaging comes at some tactical cost or shows a direct lack of respect for somone that Warn/Kick/Ban will go into effect.

I will teabag my budies if there is an opportunity and it seems appropriate (ie, we are winning, the game is not close, and I wont give anything up by doing it.) Its fun to get that reaction over TS. Typically this happens very late at night. We expect TG guys to play with maturity and respect. But that does not mean we cant be a little goofy sometimes. Just keep things in perspective. If possable, let the goofyness happen in the forums, and put your game face on in game.

Yes, this is true. Sc1ence often teabags me when I do down. He does revive me afterwards though.

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

Wow...I just read what I wrote and sounded like a jerk

I just wanted to know where 2142 stand on this so we don't contradict ourselves in the other TG servers

Re: Video: 8th Mercs Training Session 101

Teabagging in this instance is considered "tongue-in-cheek" almost like throwing down the gauntlet in-game. I've been teabagged a number of times since playing 2142 on the TG server and all it does for me is to focus on that player and hunt them back for the teabag rebound. For me it creates sort of a game within a game and is never taken personally

That's exactly what happened last Monday during the "unranked" session - I kept running into Eroak over and over. One time he got in behind me in CQ, and I managed to wheel around and shoot him. Couldn't resist givin' him an E-bag...
