Re: Northern Strike worth the purchase?

I just picked up NS. One round on a NS server and I got two more unlocks... that was worth it to me. With Rockets unlocked I can now pretend I am Bomando and hang out on the Belgrade monorail line...

Re: Northern Strike worth the purchase?

Now with NS I have to decide between Motion Mines or Motion Mine bait for my next unlock... Been playing Engie quite a bit and those mines are a pain in the arse!

Re: Northern Strike worth the purchase?

That is a tough call. When I play engineer, I typically bring both motion mines and bait with me. I would say go with the mines for defending, you can always field upgrade to bait a minute or two into the round.

Re: Northern Strike worth the purchase?

I went with the MM, also thinking that they are more useful to have while on foot.

Came in handy last night, a lone walker was defending outer bridge lock on Suez last night. I was able to take him out solo by dropping mines near him, then using the Pilum.

So much for the debate, I got SL silver badge last night, now I'm 50 points from another unlock.

Just bring the defuser if you're concerned about disarming explosives.

One of my personal pleasures is invading an enemy Titan and disarming RDX packs, storming the hallways and catching the camping Recon player unaware. You can see him with the detonator out for a second while you're firing, taking a moment to realize that his packs aren't there anymore. ;P

Re: Northern Strike worth the purchase?

As mentioned above, reinstalling the 1.25 patch should resolve this issue.

For those of you who just purchased Northern Strike and for those who already have it, I encourge everyone to join us on Friday night at 9pm ET for a fun filled night of Frosty Friday!
