Well the largest problem i see with it is the stability issues. other than that, it seems like a very well-made mod that is rather squad-based.
In my opinion, i would say hold off supporting this game for the time being while the dev team works out the bugs for a few weeks, then once it gets to a point where it's playable, then give it another try.

Everytime I tried to join a first strike server, it said I needed a custom map or something... I clicked on the link and the web page said it wasn't available.
anyone else having this problem? The game pop up window says: Header Custommap Text_Custommap... that sort of thing

So long as I avoid the Endor map, the stability seemed fine.
If TG were to adopt the mod, then I'd certainly hope that the infantry maps and space maps were kept separate. I've found the space maps to be a hugely-boring, mind-numbing buzzkill. I don't have a joystick because I don't enjoy flying. Being forced to do so sucks a whole lot. |

I hoped on a the server for an hour yesterday and just went around the map. Didn't experience any issues and it was enjoyable. Looking forward to playing this as a quick diversion from ArmA if supported here.

I ran some rounds with maybe 4-5 guys on and the maps are huge and opens up for lots of fun scenarios.
But please, let's not do the space thing. It's like an old C64 game i never got. We just need to get more guys and gals on. First strike evening anyone?

This mod has a ton of potential. Once more infantry/vehicle maps are in with Walkers and things there will be oodles of strategies to be explored. I really like the withering fire concept and this mod seems to reward squad play with the wide open maps and longer time to cap bases.

Top Reasons to Play First Strike:
1) No long, choke-point standoffs. 2) No grenade and rocket spamming. 3) The fantastic, new maps to play. 4) Real squad play -- no more all assault squads. 5) The promise of new content in the future. |

6) Also, playing more towards your kit. You can't pick up others' kits now, so if you're the only medic in the squad, you best be keeping yourself alive.
