    SOP: Teamspeak Etiquette

    Standard Oprating Procedure [SOP]
    Teamspeak Etiquette

    http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...etiquette.html

All TG rules and codes of conduct follow over to the TS server.

Etiquette should be in standing at all times in public channels. If your visiting a private channel, etiquette stands until your breifed on private channel's conduct.

If you need to make a recording, example is someone is explaining a rule or tactic and you want to be able to listen to it later. You only may record so long as you give fair notice of anyone who might be recorded or whomever enters the channel. If a recording is going on during this time and you need to file a report. Type the report in-game and ask the admin in TS to look at chat or ask to move to another channel. Please do not use player names in TS until the recording is finished.

The main channel should never be recorded for any lenght of time. If left on, you will be asked to take it off, removed from the channel or TS.

This should be the same for every public channel, not just ours. Private IHS channels are also apply if your a visitor. If you are a member of that IHS channel, then your IHS rules apply.

Admins(SA, CA) may record the channel for cases of TS harrassment and investigation. We will never use recording otherwise unless annouced. Anyone recorded in addition to the target player will not be released and deleted ASAP.

TGU events, once started are always allowed to be recorded and should be stopped upon completing the course.

Walkthrough of the BF2142 Teamspeak Channels
    • The 'Main BF2142' channel is for the players on server 1 conquest
    • The 'Admin' channel is for the admins to talk to each other, it is ok to enter this channel and announce your presence and ask for help with something
    • The 'Lobby' channel is for the chat channel, for people in game or just hanging out to chat
    • The 'Titan' channel is the people playing on TG server 2, note if the game mode of server 2 is changed then this teamspeak channel will also be renamed
    • The channels 'Conquest Team 1' and 'Conquest Team 2' are for squad lead to squad lead co-ordination during game (see below)
Teamspeak Setup eg Push To Talk Button & Keybinds
    • When teamspeak is installed it is set up for an open mic by default. This is not a good idea, people can hear even breath and comment you make. Goto > options > sound input/output settings > push to talk
    • We have a seperate video dedicated to setting up teamspeak the most useful way, video is here
    Get A Mic Check
    • Simply jump in channel and ask "mic check please", it is a good habit to always get a mic check when joining teamspeak
    • If your mic is good then you will hear responses from "you're ok" to "loud & clear" to "5 by 5" (5/5 for volume and 5/5 for clarity)
    • If your mic is not good then you will game feedback about clarity or volume, for you to then address
    • It is ok to ask for a mic check during game
    What Takes Priority In Teamspeak
    • First Priority: Contacting an admin (to report server rule breaking and help maintain standards on our teamwork server)
    • Second Priority: Squad lead to squad lead co-ordination (to add another level to the teamwork)
    • Third Priority: General socialising (to have some fun banter when the next map is loading)
    Contacting An Admin
    • Reporting DON'Ts :-
      • DON'T threaten the rule breaker with Kicks or bans
      • DON'T make false reports, we operate a trust system and believe the reports from TG people on teamspeak, if you break that trust then you will be in hot water yourself !
      • DON'T direct any anger or bad emotions towards an admin
      • DON'T tell the admin what action to take (they will normally follow the pattern >>warn >>then>> kick >>then>> ban)
    • Reporting DOs :-
      • DO start the report by just saying "can I get an admin"
      • DO stick to the facts
      • DO give the offenders name and the rule they have broken
      • DO use the phoenetic alphabet to spell complex offender names
      • DO answer any further questions the admin may ask
      • DO fetch an admin from another teamspeak channel, if needed, admins can be identified by their teamspeak name '|TG| Eroak <BF2142 admin>' or '|TG| Eroak <BFx admin>'
      • DO type up in game the report, if you get no admins response on teamspeak. Admins have a program that beeps on key words, so type up "ADMIN REPORTING Mr.Black for xyz"
      • DO take screenprints and make a report to the contact an admins forum latter, if there is no admins response at all
    • Example reports;
TG.Player "Can I get an admin?"
    TG.Admin "Yes, go ahead"
    TG.Player "Mr.Black is spawncamping"
    TG.Admin "Give me more details"
TG.Player "I just spawned in our UCB and he immediatly sniped me"
TG.Admin "Thanks for the report, I'll deal with him now"
TG.Admin then procedes to warn Mr.Black
    Originally Posted by example report

    TG.Admin "Roger admin here"
TG.Player "Mr.Black stole a walker from the PAC UCB"
    TG.Admin "Copy, got him, thanks"
TG.Admin then procedes to warn Mr.Black
    • More info on the infraction system here
    SL to SL Channels
    • We use teamspeak during rounds for squad leaders and the commander to co-ordinate, this is to add yet another level to the teamwork
    • At the start of a map you will hear someone say "PAC squad leads to 1", this is the indicator for squad leads on PAC to goto the sub channel 'Conquest Team 1'. PAC is not always allocated to 1, its just allocated to PAC for that game there and then
    • Squad leads normally move to the team channels with keybinds, see the setup guide here
    • During the round the squad leads coordinate attack & defence and then the normal procedure is to then jump back into the main channel for the end of round banter
    • If you have joined mid game and are squad leading, it is quite ok to jump into a SL-to-SL channel for a moment and ask "PAC or EU"
    • As the same people tend to squad lead game after game, they tend to goto the same teamspeak channel again and again, even though they are switching between PAC to EU with each map change
    General Socialising
    • Smacktalk/Banter/Chatting
      • The rule is that during a game smacktalk/banter/chatting is not to take place in the main 2142 channel but in the lobby channel. There can easily be 10 or 20 people in main 2142 channel and a conversation that is useful/fun for only 2 people is just noise & useless to everyone else. For example, person A says "I shot you in the back person B" then person B says "yeah that was funny, i will get you next time". This is fun for those 2 people but useless to everyone else. Don't be the rude person that is making 20 people listen to you when they are trying to hear the squad communications
      • At map change to 1 minute on the counter, banter is encouraged in the main 2142 channel but at 1 minute to go the banter must stop and move to the lobby channel
    • Asking For A Squad Invite
      • At the start of a round the squads are formed and squad leads will often lock the squad and invite a few people and then open up the squad for the remaining slots to be taken
      • It is ok to occasionally ask on teamspeak for a squad invite. Make sure you say the squad leads name and your own, don't assume they will recognise your voice, for example say "Mr Blue, squad invite to Mr.Good please". Squad invite requests should be done before there 1 minute left on the counter to game start
      • The regular squad leads get to know the regular squad members and will invite who they want, if you want a steady stream of invites then become a helpful fun teamplayer. Don't be the annoying person nagging for squad invites at the start of every round !
    • Visiting In-House Squad Channels
      • In house squad (IHS) channels are semi private, the general guideline is you can jump in the IHS channel and say hello and ask if its ok to stay and talk
When Teamspeak Is Busy At Mapchange
    • The main BF2142 channel should be silent during game, except for reports to admins or mic checks or one person quickly asking someone else to move to another channel
    • At map change, in the main 2142 channel, banter is encouraged while the squads are forming, this is 1 minute where there is a lot of fun on teamspeak. Then when the counter is at 1 minute there should be silence again, for the squad leads to organise their squads. That means that by the 1 minute mark the banter is done, person A asking person B to move to the lobby is done and squad invite requests are done
    • At 1 minute to go, it is ok for anyone on teamspeak to make teamspeak go quiet by saying "1 minute out, quiet on teamspeak please"
    • From there being 1 minute on the counter and game start, teamspeak should be silent except for squad leads asking each other to goto the team channels and/or reports to admins
    Temporary Teamspeak Channels For Scrims
    • On the day of a scrim the admins will set up several channels to organise the event
    • The normal procedure is all players gather in the roll-call channel one hour before the scrim start. The admins will do a roll call and move the players to the team channels, at that point the commander of the team is then in charge
