New TG member and Sniping video
Hey everyone, just thought I would stop by and say hi =P. I have been playing FPS's for sometime now, but this is my first time playing the BF series and I enjoy it. I am a sniper at heart, I have never been the person going out for the highest scores/kills so I know I'll be able to contribute to a squad/team very well. I just started college at Univ. of Michigan just a lil while back, but I garuntee that you can expect a lot and I wont dissapoint. A good friend of mine was also a sniper and he is the one that actually introduced be to the BF series made a sniping video... it's a lil different than most and it shows a few things that most "Just stay prone a sneaky" video wont show.
Since I cant post URLS until after 15 posts please go to Youtube.com then search BF2142 Tips, and the title of the video is "BF2142 Sniping Tips/Guide By soane". If you cannot find it please tell me but it is a really great video . Well anyways I hope I'll see you all in game =D ~ -TG- Fall3n |

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
Welcome to TG. Post a Hi in the general forum!
Here is the video Good tips, but I need to point out that the jump/prone tactic is also a dolphin dive and a illegal tactic here. But it would work well on a pub.

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
Welcome!
As Eroak said, please don't do the jump-proning here, aka dolphin diving. I gotta ask, how is he landing hits when he is strafing or zoom then fire so fast? When I do it, I notice my crosshair is still settling, and while my X-hair is on the money, the shots don't always land. When I give the X-hair a moment to settle, then I score hits. BTW, the tip to not go prone at edges, then prone to avoid fire looks good. As I need to give the Recon class more time I'll give it a go. But that tactic will not protect you from rockets. ![]() |

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
I haven't watched that video yet, but, if you scope in quickly on someone's face, fire, and scope out, all in one motion, very quickly, it'll hit just fine. If you are moving at all, the shot will deviate a buttload.
The scope, fire, unscope method works amazingly to get rid of/negate the rifle sway.

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
I took note of the iilegal tactics =D. But wow I got a lot more feedback then I thought lol, and gator to reply to your question, in the video he is making the video go faster towards the end so he can put more into it, thus making it seem like he's moving faster and killing faster than he really is. Anyways, I also noticed some good tips and it looks like some great competition O.o

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
Just one other thing I'd recommend, if you want to play at TG a lot, don't dump all of your unlock points into only the recon class, spread it into one other class.
Also, the sprint unlocks make a big difference, and are with you no matter what class you play. |

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
Yeah I understand, I just got the APM's, the RDX, Scope, Defib and Grenades. I'm planning on going up teirs in the Assault tree(lol World of Warcraft talkin) and later getting a few SL items. But if anyone has any other suggestions/opinions I would be happy to here them =D

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
The Assault tree is a good choice. That and the sprint unlocks I mentioned. You'll find organized squads at TG will want mostly medics. The squad that keeps each other alive is the squad that caps flags more often. It's also recommended since you should find it easier to rack up points using the medic class with the heal points and revives adn therefore rank up faster.
Hmm, it's a 3rd level unlock, but I find the Active Camo VERY handy for a sniper. It's much easier to shift positions without being seen. Being on the other side, you'll see how snipers are usually easy pickins for a squad with rockets. |

By the way, you do have to wait for your cross hairs to settle after moving, especially to get headshots. There's this thing called strafe deviation, making it near impossible to hit a target while moving and wielding a sniper rifle. When you strafe and fire, you're rolling on dice to hit your target, so I don't know how that person is hitting targets while moving at full strafe in the vid. |

Re: New TG member and Sniping video
Unfortunately, I can't see the video at work.
I will say this, though: It is always nice to meet another sniper on the TG servers. I take great pride in my sniper hunting and counter-sniping abilities. I'll be sure to give you a nice, warm welcome when I see you in the server! =)
