Best Way to Clear Out 'Nade Spammers?

This is one that always bugs me, and I haven't found a way to combat it other than sheer stupid numbers. It usually involves 'nade spammers in titan halls that are defending consoles, but it can apply to other choke points as well, such as certain areas in Gibraltar. However, unlike Gibraltar, in Titan corridors there are NO other ways around this particular choke point. A supply box, and one or more guys chucking 'nades is enough to reduce the skill and strategy factor in a stand off situation to zero.

Any suggestions to get around 'nade spam? Usually, the only thing I've seen work is a few sacrificial lambs go and throw their own 'nades (and they die in the process) clearing the way for the rest of the squad. This to me is equally lame.

Once in a while, if I can time it right, and if there's only one thrower, I can hop in the corridor, and pop off a head shot with a sniper rifle in between grenades (I head shot the thrower while the grenade is in the air), but I die once the grenade lands. Get more than one thrower defending, and this is impossible.

Any ideas?

(Rockets are just about as effective as clearing grenade spammers, so it's not an improvement.)

Good defence with nade spamming can be impossible to counter, especially if it's a TG squad. I suggest if playing Titan, go capture silos instead.

On Gib? Nade spam them back and make them bleed more than you are.

My first suggestion would be to lose the sniper rifle. If you are gonna rush the corridor then you will need more fire power. Even if they pop thier head up to throw a nade, constant firepower will kill them.
I haven't played Titan much, but:

Lead with a couple of frags, maybe have one person throw a EMP. Move down the corridor quickly with an SMG or Shotgun. If you get a chance to range them from where they are throwing, then set your rockets and fire.
No matter what you try..............someone is gonna die, so have a medice ready.

I'm actually considering the fact that a few shots from the clark rdx might land in the right areas and they'd have to move for a few seconds while they blew up, allowing you to rush in. Probably wouldn't help much though.

Its a basic rule in Titan many dont seem to understand. its not a joy to attack a Titan - it is the punishment that you didnt do your silo job well.

We all know Titan matches can be won by pure Silo control. Now if you are on the losing side.... you are forced to go into the corridors of hell to die over n over n over.

The only way to have a chance in a heavily defended 1 and 2 is getting to the first pillar. A nade from there can reach exactly to the console and clear out lots of defenders.

Sniper rifle is the best "insta-kill" weapon I've found yet on corridors. Works great when there's a bunch of assault weapons on the other side, I can duck in and out and rack up one kill after another without taking much damage. 'Nades however, are my bane.

Most people will agree that rockets vs 'nade spammers in titan corridor are virtually useless due to distance, aim, revives, etc.

So, why bring rockets then? I say bring smoke instead. Some people may think I'm joking, but I'm not. Have more than one assault toss a few smoke grenades into the corridor and then rush the corridor (minus the SL if the SL is spawnable). When done right, the smoke usually throws the aim of the 'nade spammers off a bit and helps cover you from suppressive fire. Both give you a much better chance of making headway in the corridor than if you had not used the smoke. Also, if you rush into the smoke it wouldn't hurt to toss a few grenades down the corridor to help soften up defenders.

On a Titan map I agree with Lyra. You should only have to attack into those corridors if your team has failed to win at the silos. Further, if you do go in after consoles 1 and 2 you really only stand a chance if the defenders aren't set up properly.

A full squad with two or three support troops, drone turrets, shields, and three or four rocket/nade spamming assault-medics is impossible to remove from either of those choke points.

That being said, if the defense is not set up too tightly I've found that filling the corridor with smoke and a nade (two guys), followed by a rush (three or more guys) can yield some pretty good results. Inexperienced defenders tend to "freeze" when their position is smoked and their line of sight drops to zero. I'm also starting to think that the fastest way to take out a console is to have a squad of assaults/supports blast away at it with their primaries rather than waiting on an ENG or RECON to do some fancy crap with explosives or overpriced hand-cannons. ("Pilum" == "I think Sigmund Freud was cute")

On conquest maps, I have no idea... just keep up your revs and try to bleed them with some of their own nade medicine?

In the titan scrim, I think the sheer mass of bodies heading down the corridor allowed the attackers to get through the spam. That said, I've had a lot of success sprinting down and proning at that first little wing (on console 1+2) and throwing a grenade from there. You get much better accuracy and while you will be taken out, it takes a bit of time from the defenders to re-sight their rockets or grenade tosses. This lets attackers get slightly further down. Again, only way to really win, in my opinion, is with bodies.

as before, the first pillar is the bane of any non-tg server in my experience. However, you'll still need more than one guy.

This doesn't always work, BUT, sometimes, even when there are 3 enemy supports with sentry guns and nades guarding the hallways, you can charge through on active camo. The nade spammers won't notice anything, because they are getting lots of kills from your buddies. Get to the first wing and chuck all your grenades at different distances from the hallways. THis should clear out all the defenders. If it doesn't,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TOUGH LUCK YOUR LAST CHANCE IS GONE ACCEPT TO GO BACK IN ACTIVE CAMO AND TRY TO GET BEHIND THEM. Sorry for the capitals.
