The Revivee and the AFK

I was playing a few rounds earlier on a pub server and it reminded me of something everyone forgets every once in a while. When playing the "revivee" (the critically wounded guy needing a revive) don't forget your still playing the game, especially on the TG server, remember to expect a revive.

You're all wondering why the revivee has a key role in the revive, it makes me sad when I revive someone only for them not to get up and move and just die right there again. Yes you should take out the guy covering his body, but that's not always an option.

Some games get drawn out making dying a great time to take a pee or walk over and tell your dog how much you love her, but you can wait a few minutes until your on the spawn screen, and for the love of all things holy, tell your squad not to revive you if don't want one.
--------------------------
On another note, I ran out of ammo on a server, just as I called my support for ammo he all of a sudden went AFK!

Sometimes going AFK is unavoidable but there are a few things you can do that makes it a hell of a less frustrating in dire moments. Drop a medkit/ammo at you feet, disengage battle, and most importantly, communicate to the squad. All you need to say is "AFK a moment." No need to say why or anything.

Hopefully this is a refresher for everybody!

Re: The Revivee and the AFK

Yeah, good point. on a related note, I'm not a supporting member. This means that I occasionally get kicked for that slot. If I see that happen, I try and throw everything I have down: AHUB, MHUB, IDS, PDS, etc. It may not last after I get DC'ed, but hey, if it does, I like to think that it will make a small difference for my team.

Oh, and tell your squad if you're getting kicked for the SM slot. It gets rid of confusion like "where did he go?" and keeps people from trying to revive you, and possibly getting hit themselves.

*Yeah, I know, most people here are SM's already, but if you aren't, try these things.*

Someone commented to me earlier this morning that whenever they revive me I run like a bat out of hell I'm not even on the ground for more than half a second and I'm making tracks

I believe I once heard (and haven't done any testing on the subject whatsoever) that when revived, you're always facing due north. With this in mind, you can always know where you're going to run the instant you get revived. I know that as soon as I hear a nearby "clear", I hit the spacebar and know exactly which direction I'm taking off at a full sprint.

Oh hells yeah, I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for a revive. As soon as the clear is heard, I press shift, space, and run away like a screaming little chicken.

Yeah, as soon as I get a revive I bolt for the nearest cover...I can't count the times I've ran and survived and the guy that revived me gets mowed down...on that note, once you revive someone else make sure you find cover yourself.

Reviving tip-top-tip: DON'T HUMP THE DAMN CORPSE.(lie prone to revive it)
It doesn't help you revive the guy and only slows you down. With practice you can simply crouch and revive them as if you were sprinted over them, it takes but a split second.
