Yes, It depends on your tasks at hand also. I prefer it when I am an Engineer, although I can use the SMG pretty well, Sandy gives you some additional range and firepower. Two or three hits from the drone will make it easier for someone to kill that enemy, and will also make them look for cover.

In games that your not required to have emps I like to have the sentry gun. Like defending south in berlin on the second flag. It does not often get kills but it gaurds a passage for me letting me know when someone is getting ready to go to an area (by shooting or disapearing off the map) and if I am watching that area I will be shooting back while they shoot at by sentry.

Hey everyone,

I've been out of action for a while (we're talking months, here). Now when I come back, I find a lot of us are talking about taking the Accpiter Gun drone. Unless I'm missing the irony, what has changed? Have recent patches made the gun drone more effective?

Not at all, really. Bear in mind that the 39th person with the gun drone, in the entire playerbase, only has some 200 kills with it. Compare that to how much more a squad can get, per round, based on the intel provided by the Otus. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Now, if you manage to get both drones over your head, that's fun.

Probably not, they would most likely crash into each other, the Otus would block the Accipter from aquiring the target. And in that situation it results in your Otus being destroyed, making its deployment totally and completely pointless.

Actually, to my knowledge the Accpiter drone recieved an overhaul that included the new Sentry Gun target acqusition and accuracy improvement. That thing is a floating sentry gun with less health just like the Otus is a floating Pulse Scanner with more noise.

Haven't played around with it much (or at all since I ignored SL unlocked until recently), but I've seen it acquire and kill multiple targets on the run and especially after the SL is down since it drops to chest height which makes it handy to at least secure the area around the SL for a revive.

while spanky is fun, I do suggest the otus if you are just getting into SLing

the otus is like the smart girl that you can take home to mom and spanky is like that redhead...

Pft...we've been over that. When you pick up a new kit if it has a squad unlock loaded on it the SL can deploy it as well. Everything is also linked to the kit so if the person is revived and has your old kit then the old drone will still be alive as long as that kit is active.

SL deployed drone
SL takes SM1's kit and deploys SM1's drone. SM1 has SL kit
SL takes SM2's kit and deploys SM2's drone. SM2 has SM1 kit
SL takes SM3's kit and deploys SM3's drone. SM3 has SM2 kit
SL takes SM4's kit and deploys SM4's drone. SM4 has SM3 kit
SL takes SM5's kit and deploys SM5's drone. SM5 has SM4 kit

That'll give the SL a possible 6 drones, but some will probably go boom as they crowd each other to death.
