    Interesting Tidbits

Some of you guys may already know this stuff. I thought it was interesting.
    • When parachuting you can strafe with A and D. Use S to cause the chute to flare, reducing forward momentum.
    • By clicking your right mouse button you can specify how hard you throw a grenade by holding it down. So just a quick right click drops it at your feet.
    • Heavy armor: Sprint time - 8 sec. Sprint recharge - 24 sec. Jump Stamina Loss 25%
    • Light armor: Sprint time - 12 sec. sprint recharge - 17 sec. Jump Stamina Loss 15%
    • Speeding vehicles take the most damage from motion mines because they usually end up detonating in the rear. Inch your tank forward and allow the mines to hit the front to sustain the least ammount of damage.
    • The PAC pistol holds 4 more rounds than the EU pistol, but the EU pistol does more damage (31 max vs. 26 max)

Very interesting tidbits indeed nuckj. Thanks !

I'll have to try the parachute stuff jumping off a Titan.

Parachute + grenade dropping = Death from above. Works best with EMP grenades through, since frags have that 5 second timer. Take a gunship (when seeding or pubbing) as a support class and try to hit 500 meters then bailout and parashute down dropping EMP grenades. Funny as hell since it takes about 40 minutes to hit the ground.

Do those stats include info with the unlocks? Stam boost, stam regen, and jump reduction/stam regen are all soldier unlocks.

    I did not know this.

Thought I'd add some that I know.

    * Even with a good graphics card, turn off shadows, it makes targeting easier.
    * You can hold a primed grenade indefinetly with the right click, you can also sprint with it primed making it ideal for quickly throwing it around a corner.
    * The knife has a range and it's easier to make a kill if your a foot away instead of right ontop of them.
    * You can quickly slide down ladders using your sprint key.
    * If your using rockets to kill a sniper that is fixed on your position, strafe back and forth, it makes you a harder target while the rockets remain effective due to their blast radius and minor deviation.
    * When using your parachute, press space bar as soon as your gun dissappears, it is the minimum distance for it to deploy.

Very interesting. On the other hand, you take so little damage jumping off walls anyway that this seems like a semi-meaningless feature. Now, if you could speed-climb up, it'd be a different story.

These are stock soldier stats. I believe the increase with the unlocks would be proportionately even for both light and heavy armor, but I'm not sure what the stats are with the unlocks.

This is very interesting. I always wondered why my parachute didn't deploy as soon as I hit spacebar.

If anyone has any more tidbits or tips lets hear em! I think this is a great thread, lets keep it going...

    Umm. Okay

-For the parachute, when jumping out of a low building hammer your space bar and you will delpoy the chute as soon as the game allows, even if you are barely touching the ground, the manuver prevents you from taking fall damage from ridiculously low heights.
300 to 1? No problem. Might need more bullets though...

If you pay attention, you will hear a slight change in the wind as you fall signaling when you may deploy your cute.

Although if there is a ladder in the area take it. I was SLing on Camp Gib recently and one of my squadies parachuted on my head (if you're reading this don't worry I'm not upset) KILLing, as in unreviviable.

This also corresponds to your external model putting away his gun and going into a swan dive.

(By the way, I like deployable cutes. Keeps me entertained on the battlefield.)

Too bad the game doesn't allow you to put some holes into somone's chute. It would be fun to see them fall to death.

I believe in the upcoming new Road Runner vs. Wile E. Coyote game mode this will be an available tactic.

    Re: Interesting Tidbits

The chute is actually a cross between the drop pod and the 3rd seat of an FAV and is classified as a vehicle. When you deploy it you are placed in seat 1 of 1 and your chute can be destroyed. Of course its so rare to see people use them for a prolonged period of time (I perfer to HALO off the back of Titans or out of aircraft) that you don't usually get to blow them up and off people.

Of course being vehicles means they suffer the same penalties as vehicles. They can take damage and like the FAV will take damage from small arms. Destroying the chute will automatically kill the 'occupant' and make them unrevivable. They also show up on the Engineer PDS just like the Drop pods (they appear as FAVs flying through the sky when deployed by a vehicle).

The EU pistol also has far greater kick than the PAC pistol, making the EU pistol easier to use when finishing off someone with 1 shot due to it's higher damage, but making the PAC pistol easier to take someone down from 100% with, due to it's ease of staying on target per shot.

I'm pretty sure the parachute is near invincible though, I've kill a gunship by having it ram my parachute
