Re: Offensive Strategy Discussion: Camp Gibraltar

Catwalks are important to use as PAC, the Pac Walker should work together with other men rather then going off on it's own. However, if you ecounter no motion mines(unlikely on a heavily fortified map), being extremely aggressive is a golden stargety.

One time I was on Cerebere and I was inside the Pac Walker, I was extremely aggressive and moved often sending the infantry hiding all over. The people with pilums mostly missed or hit my shield.

One strategy I've heard of is to get the walker to provide cover fire along one of the catwalks in order to help a squad break through. It not only clears the walkway, but the dust kicked up also provides visual cover for the squad moving across the catwalks. Haven't tried it myself, but it sounds pretty solid.

Great discussion points, here! Be looking for another tactics discussion installment later this weekend or early next week!

Just a point; the west side wall down Toll Station can be extremely dangerous if you've got a full squad moving down, especially a good one.

The way to win offensively as PAC every time is to take Harbour and do nothing else. In almost every situation PAC will have a ticket lead after getting harbour. So all you have to do is turtle at the train cars and you'll win. I'd draw a picture, but it would have so many coloured lines you'd be freaking out.
this is a good one if your team is disciplined enough to do it otherwise its a guaranteed lose, which is what happens since the majority of people are stupid and will push onto Toll with out knowing what is going on.

PAC offense on Camp G is a two step process:

Do that quickly and you should do quite well.

If you can't get that done while you still have a good chunk of your 30 ticket lead.... start looking to put squads into their back bases.

Let your SL's know what you see on the EU defense. Give them good intel and get them into position to help each other.
If it looks like you may cap a back flag let all the SL's know to have their dead SM's spawn back there to help out.

I do that all the time... And it works all the time 90% of the time. (Figure that one out, =P )

Seriously though, most squads are so preoccupied with the north or south wall they have a skeleton defense right down the middle. If you rush it with a full squad, the flag will drop before they can realize you were even there.

In all actuality, I have never faced more than 5 people rushing the flag down the middle ASAP. Seriously. Its gotten so bad that on defense, I make sure my squad is IN the middle anymore.

In my opinion, a quick cap of Harbor can be detrimental to your team. If you have a squad that's trying to slip past Toll, denying enemies the ability to spawn at Harbor means that your sneak force will be trying to slip past more than just the one squad typically at Toll. If you don't have that sneak squad, then by all means rush that central ramp. Its one of the few times I actually use recon also. Cloak-run up, get on the flag, have your squad appear, then as soon as the flag flips (or goes neutral, depending) get the hell out of there. Rockets and grenades will be incoming. In this case, recon works because it allows you defend the entire south/west area with a few APMs. RDX can also be tossed over the crates.

I think that one's a comm call which works quite well if every squad is aware of their role. Most times though its just a crazy FFA in the first 2 minutes of the round.

Very true. I just mention it since I'm usually in the squad trying to run past Toll.

Re: Offensive Strategy Discussion: Camp Gibraltar

What I do when I SL is take a FAV, punch it to the train cars, drop down a beacon, and just sorta push on Toll, not too hard, but enough to draw people away from Harbour. Plus, you can always keep going and cap Toll, then keep pushing on in.
