Strategy Discussion: Little Tunis

16 player

this map is for FUN
banzaii!
don't sweat the bleed, it'll be over before you can calculate it.

plan 1:
1. hold the waker back to defend the back two flags
2. put a good squad in the FAV and have them push the OpFor back flag
3. use infantry to push the remaining tasks
4. kill the OpFor walker quickly!

plan 2:
1. put a great infantry squad on your back flag
2. walker pushes on the middle flags with light infantry support
3. two squads to FAV rush their back flag

plan 1 seems to work better for me.

32 player ideas/notes when I get time to post them

Had to.

I'll create a separate 16-player Tunis thread--you're definitely right, Lorax, in that none of the tactics for the larger versions apply. I didn't check to see if I could edit my original post, but if I can, I'll specify the 32-man Tunis map. (Consider it specified for this thread if I can't.)

Strategy Discussion: Little Tunis

As Lorax so astutely pointed out in my Tunis discussion thread, 16-player Tunis deserves its own thread, as none of the tactics and strategies used in the 32-player version apply. So here it is!

Tiny Tunis is a very close map with many exposed approaches. What's your favorite plan of attack? Which control point do you go for first? What do you think the best walker placement is?

Discuss.

EU should hold the bridge and The PAC hold the Eastern Docks. Generally, both sides cannot capture either the bridge or Eastern Docks. It's better to fight a battle of attrition than to attack and lose more soldiers and eventually lose the match. I rec. defensive posture at the Eastern Docks and the Bridge.

Eastern Docks can be a horrible flag to hold, especially if you are getting hit from the North and the East.

Re: Strategy Discussion: Little Tunis

I was wondering what was going on, I was wondering where these post from Lorax were. I was confused by the first couple of post.

Vey good tactics, I usually like to grab the fav and wait for about ~30 seconds before taking off. The other team almost always leaves that back flag unguarded.

Slick! Do you (or anyone else, for that matter) find the other team's back flag more difficult or less difficult to defend after it's empty, though?

Re: Strategy Discussion: Little Tunis

Holding back on the FAV rush works wonders on Belgrade as well.

If you cap the other teams main flag with little resistene, then you've effectively stopped their walker from spawning back in. If you do it quickly enough, it usually sets you up for control of the bleed throughout the round if not a cap out - that is of course, only if you team manages to defend the other control points it has and not give in to the FPS ADD.

Usually pretty easy if the commander is helping you out by keeping pressure on elsewhere.

AS EU defending PAC back flag

As an SL on the EU side I've had very little trouble staying well entrenched in the PAC back flag. It's a bit off topic but here's my tactic:

In the towers:
SL as support up on top floor, deploy beacon, deploy IDS, equip and use a Ganz.
Medic to help, Baur and Rockets

On the ground:
Engineer with both types of mines (focus on ramp)
Support with IDS and Turret
Medics with defib/<whatever>

feel free to switch out the ENG with a Recon if enemy walker is down.

As PAC defending EU back flag:

SL as assault medic with OTIS
one recon with apm and rdx
one support with IDS and EMP
three medics with whatever they want

stay together, move around, defib to win

switch out the recon if you need mines for an enemy walker
