Im planning on getting Battlefield 2142 in a couple of days, so I was wondering what are the best few unlocks to get at first and what class should get maxed out first or just basically what should be in your inventory. Thanks so much and can't wait to play with you guys!

Re: Best Way to Start Out
One thing to take into account is that if you play for periods of time longer than say 20 mins, you will be getting a good amount of field unlocks if you play in a squad here at TG.
I would suggest unlocking the medic tree first. Both the baur and the voss are nice, but the voss is more often used and is the more forgiving weapon of the two.

Re: Best Way to Start Out
After getting the defib and advanced med hub, I would go for the Baur. Those rockets can be very handy, and the Baur is an for learning to aim and place shots, and it's a good idea to learn those things early on.
I would also definitely grab the frag grenades early on, and maybe some of the sprint unlocks. Those help you out regardless of which kit you carry. |

From what I've seen the Voss is just spray and pray, not nearly as accurate as the Baur over long distances. But its more usefull in CQC. So it depends on your playstyle, if you like to fight up close and personal the Voss is the right gun, if you are like me and prefer to pick the enemy off then the Baur is for you.

Re: Best Way to Start Out
i prefer the stock weapons, kyrlov and scar, but its whatever you are most confortable with , use your field unlocks to try them out or pick upi kits from the ground .
The Voss is the best hip shooter of them all followed by krylov and both baur and scar are very bad at this , medium range i'd say it depends what way you shoot each weapon has different bursts and recoil , long range voss is very hard to use , but the scar / krylov and baur are v.good single shot, but you will probably want rockets for long range anyway.

Re: Best Way to Start Out
Don't ignore the general player upgrades tree: the additional grenades and sprint upgrades are forgotten by most people because they consider them a second skin. I'll sometimes encounter a bug where I won't have any of my unlocks and these are the first things I notice lacking: grenades and sprint.

Re: Best Way to Start Out
The most useful overall would be to get a good amount of the medic/assault tree done and also sprint unlocks. Then branch off into either engineer or support, whichever is more suited to your playstyle. Support can net you a lot of points quickly making ranking much easier. Recon is fun, but not incredibly useful here at TG due to the speed of the game.
The cloak is somewhat useful, but only really for stealth runs as a squad leader. Overall, its not as great as one would think, its fun, but if the enemy has good eyes and hearing, you're really easy to notice.

Re: Best Way to Start Out
All the kits have passive and active unlocks. All the net helmets are passive, while rockets and others are active, and you can only use 2 at a time.
I'd start as assault to get a better feeling of how the game plays and how squads move and work.
