Default rockets...Guiding???
Now, I've been hearing references to guiding the default rockets for engy kit for ages...now I've never done this, and never even known this was possible. Someone mind explaining how this is done and what you have to do to guide the rockets? How far can you move them?

Fire, hold down the fire button. The rocket will follow where your crosshair is. It will keep going until it hits something or goes farther than 300m.

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
A good tactic is to fire and hold the button but not look directly at the enemy armour until the rocket has almost impacted, this way the enemy does not get a warning lock tone until it's too late and they can't use the vehicles ADS in time.

Aim over the target and bring the rocket down. As one of my team members (F-4) showed, rockets also work well on infantry.

Rockets are really sweet for killing snipers who aren't smart enough to move often enough, and occasionally you can catch a squad leader looking at his minimap.

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
As others have said, hold down the fire button after firing the rocket, and move your mouse where you want the boom to be. You can take down aircraft this way, and you can also (with luck and skill) hit a tank in the back, when standing to its side!

Also, if in the game options you disable "auto-reload" you can just click the fire button and need not worry about holding the button down. Downside is your guns never reload themselves when ammo is at zero.

I've had it always turned off... but the worst is with the Support kit. I'm used to a belt of infinite ammo feeding my death machine so I never care to reload all the time.
So the next time we're together, and you see me jump out in front of enemies and just stand there before turning to run away, you can imagine what happened...

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
Of course the anti-vehicle rockets can be guided, pretty important feature.
This took me a while to figure out too, though.

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
When using the SAAW it's important to turn autoload off.

Why is this? I've had autoload on all this time and have not had any problems with the SAAW.

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
When you fire your second missile, if you release the fire button, it will reload. Autofire off will prevent than.

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
Yeah, but why is that bad? I can't think of a situation where you'd need to keep looking down the scope. They're fire-and-forget, after all. Aren't they?

Re: Default rockets...Guiding???
The missiles require visual lock to be maintained in order to seek targets.
