stratergy for collector's pin ?

Hi . I am wondering if any one has any ideas/stratergies for getting the collector's pin .Is it a case of just going recon. and using stealth , or is it more going in full blaze slashing and ripping and geting as many dogtags as possible in one go ? ... I enjoy reading these forums on tips/tricks,stratergies , and just happen to stumble on "Tactical Gamer" by accident, only just hearing about it now. ...tks. for your tips in adv ....

I'm not particularly good at collecting tags, but here's my opinion:

First off, I wouldn't go for the pin in a TG server, as with forced squad-play you won't find as many opportunities for knifing without getting you quickly killed.

Secondly, just make sure you are aware of where all of the enemies are, and make sure they don't know where you are. Check for enemy UAVs and IDS, as they will give you away unless you're cloaked and have a Ghost deployed. Try to go around your enemy Only go for the stragglers or pairs on the outskirts of the fighting.

If you manage to find an ideal target (prone sniper or support gunner facing away from you), make sure to pull out your knife a few yards before you actually reach him, as the unsheathing sound is very distinctive and may tip off the target. Once you get him, you'll want to get moving, perhaps dropping an APM or RDX on the body before you leave. Or, if you're Support, deploy an IDS nearby, and you might just nab another tag for your collection.

Tips?

1.) Don't do it here, TG members will rip you a new ******* if you go off and try to knife someone on a TG server.

2.) It is not nessessary to be a specops recon in order to get tags, just make sure that you are not seen and you can get them easily.

3.) Go for lone targets, the stationary, prone, sniper or support gunner are prime targets.

4.) NEVER EVER run into a group, you'll be dead before you can even blink.

5.) for the love of God don't miss on the first try, if you do that distictive sound of metal screeching on metal will tip off the enemy, and then you will die.

6.) Don't run around with just a knife, if you get shot at you'll want to shoot back.

7.) When knifeing in the open be quick and precise, don't try 5-10 times to hit someone you'll be dead before you get to your second attempt.

8.) attack just before you get in range, the actuall attack happens when the avatar draws his arm across in a slashing motion you must be on target by then or you will MISS.

9.) if you are haveing some major trouble just go to a knifeing server, it's the fastest easist way to get tags.

DON'T go to a knife server.

Just join a low population Cerebere or other infantry server and work on it there.

Strangely enough, I find titan defence time a good time to get tags. If you have an op-for squad that is hell-bent on taking a corridor they have a habbit of not covining their backside and I'm usually good for 1 or 2 tags before I get perforated.

Hotkey the knife to something easy and quick to hit (I use a nostromo key pad).

Be patient, sneak up with gun drawn so that if you are discovered you still have aim ready even though the element of surprise is lost. Pull knife when at kill distance. be warned, you do make a "shiiing" noise when pulling a knife so you must be quick. Usheath and kill.

Usually, best way is to hit a pub Titan or IO server. Depending on the situation, you'll want to be Recon (for cloaking your way past the bulk of the enemy) or Support (where you can use the IDS and Heartbeat Sensor to pinpoint the location of potential victims.)

Going in a city conquest game makes the experience very volatile; it's where I came one swipe away from the gold badge, but on other occasions, it just didn't work. Titan, however, is a known knife haven and usually yeilds good results.

The best way for a Titan knifer to get the pin is to first gather up some tags during the normal course of play. Once again, depends what sort of team you're up against. The ideal situation is where your team is at a disadvantage and you lose the shields first.

From there, you can pod to the back of your own Titan and catch up with the masses of enemies waiting at the corridor doorways. You can usually land one or two tags before someone realizes what's up, or before a friendly nade finishes the job (Note: Best played on FF-OFF servers)

It's not that hard to get a collector's pin on TG. Stick with your squad and look for lonewolves. Use a Shotgun+IDS combo -- flank people and come behind them.

Right on, Shuri and Zhohar.

Support is the best kit for knifing. IDS and hand scanner FTW.

Recon/cloak is overrated for knifing. Better to KNOW where the enemies are.

I've actually had some of my best knifing rounds on TG playing engineer. Engy tends to be a bit lone-wolfish, trying to flank the enemy's armor for a better shot. I've stumbled across many a sniper that way. It's not good to give away your position with the Noisemaker... er, SMG. By the time you get into SMG range, you're pretty much in knife range anyway.

Some great knife action on the clanmod server last night, btw.

I've heard not to go to these servers because EA tends to wipe stats on them, but given that they're still around, I wonder how true that actually is......

I've gone to a knife server and gotten 10 kills and then hopped into available buggy and run into a crowd of people and got ban from those server

. That's great fun and it keeps me from going back.

Also if you get close and they see you, crouch and you might escape their aim for a second for another shot if you miss.

sir nerd dont go on knife servers again methinks :/

and when knifing, if for fun on a pub server, just run round with a knife... its the most fun way..

dont back down basicly, doesnt matter if you die lots xD

and yeah dont go for knife sprees on tg server, maybe go for one every now and again, i do xD its funny getting team mates tags, but i mean yeah no sprees..

I actually got my Silver and Gold knife badges at such a server. I honestly didn't think they were ranked, and I didn't pay much attention to the little icons on the left on the server browser. I hope to earn them the correct way at some point in the future

Going to a knife only server is not necessarly a bad thing. If you go to run around and act fool trying to knife everyone else...BAD

Going to a knife only server and laying down RDX and blowing them to bits and getting a kick vote for it...Priceless

usually if you get behind a squad, and they're all shooting at something, you can get like half of them before they notice, and if your lucky, you can take them all out =)
(this goes for TG server too cause ive done it =D)
