This is different from RDX suicide, where the intention is willful destruction of self in order to accomplish the goal, not to mention, it almost guarantees an unrevivable kill from your body landing far from your kit.

If all kills were one-shot deals... Then running headlong into gunfire would be suicidal and not allowed. But, this is 2142, and we have magic electro-shock paddles that can renconstruct brain tissue and spontaneously preform organ transplants with the click of a button.
    True enough.

Besides, plenty of times in war have people decided that men's lives will have to be sacrificed in order to accomplish a military objective. See: WW1/2

umm... try every war in history. War is all about making sacrifices. Often those sacrifices are human lives. Thankfully this is just a game.

My friends call me Y. My enemies call me... well, that's a secret.

This makes sense to a point, but if I'm RDXing a flag, I'll move off and use the minimap to tell me when to blow the lot. I won't be on the flag and most times not even in range of the flag I RDX.

Not many people bring a diffuser and even if they do they'll make the flag neutral before they clear all the RDX. I usually use RDX as a punishment and softening tool to clear the now neutral flag so my teammates can flip it back.

It makes less sense to me to stay near the flag as if I die so does my trap.

All I want is to be able to keep an eye on the top of the flag at best. If it starts to drop I'll check the minimap, no friendlies = blow the lot and move in to cover the team retaking the flag.
