    Revenge of the Barrels!

    A Spring Time Refresher!

There is only one foe who remains neutral in the struggle between the PAC and the EU. A foe who can be more devasting than Radar Grenades! A foe who's only mission, is to blow up in fiery, ball of angry flame and kill your squad. You may know it as, the Orange Barrel!

As many of you know, these things surround flags, ruin good cover, and add to the dangers of tight corridors. Comm Tower on Belgrade for instance, has three barrels of doom around the flag, one grenade will blow the place to hell. Cerebere Landing as one of the bed of a truck at S. Town Center! How do we cope?

First off, remember to clear these out when you proceed through areas, especially when your squad is walking by one! Clear the flag right away before jumping on it! Yea, they make a fancy way of destroying the enemy, but is it worth that one or two team kills? But, keep your cool, don't destroy it when there are friendlies around. Another thing, Orange Barrels don't make good cover. It sounds like a good idea until your toosh gets blown off! But seriously, I've been seeing this a lot lately!!

I love in a fire fight just seeing a barrel behind someone. Booom!

If I see a barrel in a position I think some enemies might be coming from I will always put two rounds into it that way it only takes one round it set it off.

I have some fond memories of dropping people next to a barrels and then waiting for someone to rush in an revive and then setting it off.

I love barrels and get irritated when people blow them up for no good reason. Think of them like RDX that takes a few rounds to set off and use them as part of your defense or offense.

I wish there was a stat that tracked barrels destroyed and how many kills you've gotten with them.

there are 3 guys on this barrel. I get two and the 3rd is finished off before I can fire the finishing kill. I get 2 kills and an assist. When I saw those guys on the barrel I could barely aim for it I was so giddy.

    Re: Revenge of the Barrels!

My best barrel kill was maybe one of my best kills ever.

Some guy was camoing from Toll to Harbour along the East side. I could only see the red dot on the minimap. I was next to the Rorsch with the barrels around it, that is South of Harbour flag, and next to the building that is also just South of the flag, to the west of the orange barrel that's next to that weird, short structure with loads of hollow cylinders. I was at the back flag all alone and could see the red dot on the minimap moving up, I think it had been spotted by the CO. I looked at how fast he was going and his path, and suddenly he dropped off the minimap, the CO spot had worn off. I made an estimate of when I thought he would be near the barrel, and then I let it go with my Lambert...most 1337 kill ever .

Eh, in many cases I'd rather not have to worry about them when the inevitable counter-attack occurs, especially if they're near good defensive positions.

I've gotten a couple of kills by shooting barrels when the enemy walks by them.

It is just lovely to kill some1 who isn't prepared to be shot at if he stands next to the barrel. Best place to do this is near the eastern docks at Tunis Harbor. Inside that little building theres barrel just next to the exit, I did jump behind the corner and shot 1 guy next to that barrel, second guy was about to kill me, but instead of loading I fire my last bullets to the barrel : ).

When you have sniper barrels are also very handy : P

    Nice pics Azura : D
