Re: Support Kit Guide
In my experience, 90% of the time the support in my squad is not providing enough ammo. Especially since the shotty improvement in the last patch I get support players that play like assaults in my squad all the time.
Assaults will use up all the ammo you let them, so keep it flowing! Most assaults will conserve ammo unless they are sure to be getting some.

Re: Support Kit Guide
Great stuff Azura. Given some of your comments, do you think the SL should be the support when the lead from the front?

It really depends on the player.
I'm an aggressive player, and I am most comfortable with the Assault kit. I tend to bounce back and forth from the front of my squad to the rear. Generally, on an Assault I tend to always be the first to push it, if I do go down my squad is behind me to pick me up and take out targets. Then they push ahead to the CP/Location, and I keep reviving them. If I am just carrying the Clark, I don't feel safe enough to be up front. In my opinion, it's a better clean up weapon while the assault pepper them down.
I like being Assault as Squad Leader to keep my squad alive and to keep my own health up. The thing is, I am a very fast player and I know that, I try to slow down as much as possible, (I think I am getting better at slowing down though!) but I fly through ammo very quick, I constantly reload my gun after every engagement, I utilize my Herzog and Pistol, but I'm rarely caught reloading my gun. That's why when I know I got a great Support player in my squad I call it him out to play it.
Also, I feel more efficient in CQ with a Voss than I am with the Clark, that's just me though!
Another thing, I still feel I am better at playing Squad Member than Squad leader, so sometimes I tend to be Squad Leader and play it like a SM, which isn't a good thing.

Identifying exactly where an Ammo box needs to go is a little difficult to pull off in a pitched battle I find. I agree with Uranium's use of VOIP and the comm rose. If I have time to say "I need ammo, north of the flag, by the wall..." I'll just bark out, "I need ammo" and use the 'Need Ammo' audio cue putting your request up on the HUD and minimap. Of course this isn't foolproof, especially with explosions and bullets wizzing past.
I guess what I'm saying is do what you're comfortable with... which is exactly what Azura said...
...
I AGREE. ^___^

Re: Support Kit Guide
The main problem with the comma rose thing is I've never ever, not even one had a support unit react to it. A combination of that and voip, and swearing is recomended.

Re: Support Kit Guide
I agree. Using the commo rose is much easier to spot. Most of the time, radio transmissions are so garbled that one can hardly understand them. An icon on the minimap is plain and easy to spot.

If you have a support in your squad, use the commo rose in conjunciton with a request for ammo over VoIP. Using the commo rose also lets you know where the support players are, so if they don't come to you then you should go to them.

I think that's a little unnecessary, but it depends on circumstances. On Toll Station, there's just east and west sides you can call out. But if you're on Belgrade, giving your specific location is going to be an exercise in mental exhaustion, especially if I were doing it.
"I need ammo, near the... blown up trucky thing... near the big building, in the snow. ****, wait..."

Exactly. I ignore 99% of the ammo requests because, honestly, I don't even hear them anymore. I'm not going to divert my attention because someone across the map needs ammo (honestly adding a feature that would ignore this would be a godsend). If you say on VOIP I'll expect it coming and look for it.
@ Shifty - I'm going to slap you if you talk about the bianchi one more time. Seriously, we don't care about your stats. Stop bringing it up three times in every damn thread, as you do even in utterly unrelated ones.

Hmm, well it's your duty playing that kit to provide ammo. You here "Medic! Man Down! Mandown!" every ten seconds too, I hope you don't ignore that too so you can get a kill.
Every time someone calls for ammo or health, I just drop a kit at my feet if I am engaged in a firefight, it's better than doing nothing. And it takes like 2.5 seconds....
Also, just in case nobody knew, if you hit the Default Key "T" for the Tactical Rose on the top left of your HUD it displays your Squads Health....

Hate the game, not me.
On top of the regular drone of machine gun and walker fire, there's people broadcasting radios, the endless calling of '...spotted!', orbital strikes exploding every 10 seconds, grenade and rocket spam (and the ensuing "Frag Out!" yell), the game has long since settled into a drone of 'white noise'.

As a squad member? I'll have to try that...

Its still your job to supply people with ammunition. Supports who run around while I tag behind them yelling "I could use some supplies" ad nauseum piss me off. Its not that hard to listen for two sounds and check them against the white noise of the game. I give y'all health when you need it and will go out of my way to get a box to someone who's hurting, the least you could do is give supplies back. Hell, I'll give health completely unasked for.

Re: Support Kit Guide
As a medic your duty is to kill AND revive teammates.
As a support your duty is to kill AND resuply your team / squad.
If this basic concept is too hard to understand......well......go read the Primer and SOP's.... basically read it all again. TG = teamwork NOT individual score!!!
I never knew about the "T" health check!!
