exactly why walkers should not be running off on their own. Very powerful weapons, but completely unless if one support is carrying emp nades.

Hey, I had an interesting thought after I was thinking about this whole vents=weak point thing, does that mean that if you're an engineer, when you repair the walker, if you point the repair gun at the vents, does it repair faster? I've always tried to repair tanks from the rear and walkers from underneath basing it on this premise, but come to think of it, I can't say that I've ever noticed any kind of difference in repair time.

I don´t believe it works both ways. I could be wrong though...

The repair tool doesn't care which component you point it to. It'll aways repair at the same rate:

Mini-hint: you can repair sentry guns and supply boxes too!

Too bad most don't know that. Most of the guys who have been long time players know that.

Re: infantry gun vs.walker

In practice, it ends up not being too useful. An engie's rocket destroys a supply crate in one shot, and SGs usually don't live long enough to bother waiting for an engineer to pass by and repair it.

This is so freaking hard to do. In game it takes forever to actually kill a moving walk with a gun.

Re: infantry gun vs.walker

Although today I did see a group of players do this on the very same map shown in the video.

With the VOSS one clip in the hole under the walker, if all bullets hit the target, give 30% dammage. I tested that while the server was empty.

Re: infantry gun vs.walker

Even if it doesn't kill the walker, it often lures the driver out of the walker doesn't have infantry support.

Sorry for my inéloquence, I mean that if you emptied a full clip in trap ventilation under the walker with the assault rifle the most used ( the Voss), the walker will take 30% damage.

Re: infantry gun vs.walker

I can't remember, is it an instant 1 shot kill to the vents with the Pilum or does it burn for a second? If it burns, it might be worth emptying a few smg bullets into the vent first.

By the way what kind of damage does the shotgun do to the walker? I remember a long time ago taking one down with a shotty on a pub server, but I don't know what health it was at.

One more thing, is it true that an engy rocket (pilum or default) to the correct spot in the leg can sometimes cause the walker to fall over and eventually blow up? By correct spot, I mean the backside of the "knee."

Re: infantry gun vs.walker

At full health, it does burn for a couple of seconds before exploding. However, I wouldn't bother with the SMG, as it increases the amount of time you spend underneath that thing and increases the chance of you getting killed before you can deliver your payload.

The walker will tip over whenever its health gets below a certain point (15% I think). It has nothing to do with which part you hit, although a leg shot does take more damage than a body shot, and I believe a shot to the knees does more damage than a usual leg shot.
