So, I was on Highway Tampa, conquest. And me an' my squadies were defending a flag.
Then suddenly we hear the APC SPOTTED command. Since there was only 1 guy in the APC I ask my squad to EMP it a couple of times, and NOT DESTROY it. I set an IDS on its belly, and my engineer squadie sets a PDS. The enemy APC turns into OUR infantry/vehicle radar, detecting ITSELF and all enemies around it. So, instead of getting one kill, and just allow the APC to respawn on their side, I (maybe foolishly) turn it into a radar. What do you guys think? Was/IS this a good move to try, and would it pay out on the teamwork/tactical side? Thanks.

Re: P/ids
If you detect enemy vehicles that you did not know about and can then destroy them then yes it would be a good thing. More likely is that the vehicle drove up somewhere and got a bunch of kills you could of prevented. A better ploy is to get your team not to destroy it and keep it emp locked get your engineer to put a motion mine in the direction the pilot can see and then shoot it once with an AT weapon, it will be under 50% and if it moves it dies so the only thing for that player to do is jump out and try to kill you. When they do that you jump in kill him and keep the APC. now they are down a APC till they destroy it, that can be real painful thing on an armor heavy board and you now have a great piece of armor to assist you that will make you mostly immune to uncoordinated attacks or attacks with out anti-armor.

- Commander orbital-striking the APC, or motion mines, or anything exlosive in nature would probably destroy them. or - You die. About two minutes later, your PDS / IDS is going to expire, unless you snag your kit again.

... And then picking us up again.Amazingly, the guy had 2 deaths (0 kills though) but the help he offered was invaluable, so I would pick him for my squad over any trigger happy K/D hunter... If you are that person, please PM me (I think he had a |TG| tag)! Sorry I forgot what your name was...

Re: P/ids
A good move similar to this, is if you find an abandoned vehicle in an enemy-infested area, stick a PDS/IDS underneath it. It will detect enemies who take the vehicle, and any enemies around it.
Obviously, this does still leave us with the problem Uranium pointed out, but if you have a tight squad with plenty of medics, you can last quite a while.
