Which kit tree is better for infantry servers?

Basically I plan to start working on a new tree for my character and have decided to split into two groups: Spec ops and Support. Using my assault kit to farm unlock points, I am undecided on which kit set to use as a direct brawler unit (guy who gets close and takes care of the trash. With Spec ops, I am opting to go for the lambert carbine while with support I will aim for the herzorg shotgun. So which one is the better choice for a brawler in an infantry only server?

And no, I will not unlock the voss.

lol I would go with the Assault kit!

First off, you have a med pack which means you can keep your own skin alive! Then you have a defib to keep your homies alive, so in turn they can keep you alive and help you gun down the enemies. Think TEAMWORK!

Now if you fancy yourself in close quarters I would recommend using the Herzog Assault Rifle Attachment as your secondary to your rifle. Ever get caught reloading? Swing that beast out and start blowing enemies away. Definitally help you out when you start fighting 1v2-1v3. At least with Assault you can deal from range and close quarters. The weapon of choice is only about 20% of your total effiency, you need to account for accuracy, twitch skills, finesse, and awareness. It's safe to say assault is probably the most dynamic kit out there.

The Recon kit won't really help you much. Yea you can blow stuff up, but well you can heal yourself, your weapon is weaker compared to a Assault Rifle, and you have zero tools to help your team.

Support is good with the Clark (Shotgun), provide ammo and the IDS to spot out the infantry. Also you have the emp grenade you screw out with the infantry helmets. But with the Clark you are only good in close quarters.

There is nothing wrong with the Voss! Hah, it really is a good weapon for close quarters and range. I think the assault rifles are pretty balanced, you just gotta get comfortable with one to rock!

Assault! No bias from the fact that it is my favorite kit... but it's balanced. On single shot, you have the option to go for precision and you have the comfort of full automatic. You can also heal yourself, and keep your squad and teammates up. The rockets are a must have for taking out groups at a fair distance, but can function up to pair at a close range where you don't have the time to throw a grenade. Though the shotgun attachment can be a life saver in those brawls.

The support kit would be your next best bet. The Clark packs a punch perfect for up close brawls. And the unlimited ammo? Can't beat it! The IDS is key to keeping yourself and others informed on the enemy locations to better yourselves in a shoot out.

Recon provides more of a preventive measure. APMs can take out quite a few, if place correctly. If you are in a firefight, most will be focused on the targets; not on the ground. The RDX can cover key locations and can save you the flag, its much of a waiting game. And finding a location to wait, but still see the location of your RDX can be tricky.

I still think that thing shoots unnaturally far and accurate for a shotgun...

Azura has pretty much explained everything in a nut shell. However, if you still desire to develop either the spec ops or support branches, I would say go with support. While the lambert does offer an "assault" rifle, it does not generally compete well against the other assault rifles due to sheer lack of power. The reason it is useful is for maps such as titan maps which allow recon to have a means of defending themselves while planting apm/c4. For support, go with what you like. The shotgun is what it is...close combat, wide radius. The ganz is ok but don't expect excellent results from it in close combat.

The Ganz can be used in CQ, but it requires a bit of forethought. You need to start firing before you round the corner kinda deal. The gun needs to rev up, so it'll only hit the target once its been firing for about half a sec. Then take a knee, and fill the poor idiots in front of you full of lead.

Assault. They're the bread and butter of every infantry formation, pack an excellent punch (especially with the rocket or shotgun attachment), and are relied upon to keep everybody else up and shooting.

Once you've got an assault kit that suits your playing style -- or maybe even before! -- start thinking about player unlocks. Infantry matches revolve around your ability to traverse the battlefield faster than the other guy, and sprint upgrades are a huge part of that.

Last but not least, consider investing in the support tree, particularly towards the shotgun. A well-placed soldier brandishing a shotty might as well be a walking, talking chokepoint on some of the more cramped urban maps.

Re: Which kit tree is better for infantry servers?

Before I came to say hello to TG I focused on recon and support.

Those are still my two specialties but I am regretting the recon role... I love being support in squads.. The IDS, the resupply.. I use the Ganz and I like it a great deal.

I will say, however, that a cloaked recon with the Lambert can do some serious damage if he's smart and the SL wants to use him... Squad gets stuck up on a particularly stubborn opposing squad? Have a recon stealth in behind them. I've personally downed an entire squad with that method, clearing a path for my buds that were getting hung up.

Assault is probably the best kit, it being well balanced and able to whip out a boatload of whoopass and love at the same time. My personal favorite is the Support kit with shotty, with EMP and IDS, my all around favorite. And shotty does have unholy range, and damage, despite what Azura says. And the Lambert carbine's only good points are, IMHO, its ROF and kickass frame. So go for support.

Re: Which kit tree is better for infantry servers?

If you are looking for a "Brawler", don't look past Assault.

Assault indefinitely is the bread and butter of this game. It's well balanced and the ability to heal yourself and others cannot be beat. Rockets are amazing at range, the shotgun owns close, it is the perfect get close and take them out kit.

Recon is NOT a brawler kit. One on one vs an assault kit or support kit, recon with a lambert looses period. Recon is great at sneaking up and taking people out, but the lambert is underpowered. If you are looking for something to mow down people with stick with assault. Or look into support with IDS. The recon kit is best used as a "trickster kit" meaning: sneaking around, blowing assets, planting mines and causing havoc.

If you play it as a front line kit you will die, a lot.
