Mirror asking for some Tips...
Hey guys it´s me again.
As you can read in the topic i´m asking for some tips. Not the stuff i can read here by all these fantastic guides, no personal tips. After i played several rounds with you i hope you got a few of my way to play and now i´m asking for help. What are my mistakes and what could i do better? Maybe you recognize a few things i did´t wrong and help me do get a better player so i´m able to put the TG-tag in front of my name someday. right now i guess i´m still not good enough to represent the community with my " skills " so i have to train more. everyday i read another SOP again to get this stuck in my head. theories is fine but experience on the battlefield is more important.
so thanks for the help
Mirror
PS: if you haven´t played with my or don´t remember me nevermind. send me an invite to your squad or join one of my squads to have a view of what i´m talking about
cheers and beers

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
You can put the TG tag in front of your name whenever you agree to the rules, it has nothing to do with how good you are.

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
I know that but i want to represent TG not only by agreeing the rules. I also want to represent it with skill. Being a good SL and SM is my goal. i got converted by player they are better than me. If a puppie joins my squad or i join a squad of one i want to make a good figure cause the first impression is deciding. I wouldn´t be here today if i joined a TG squad with an SL who actually don´t know what he´s doing or giving nonsense orders
Edit : In my opinion agreeing the rules don´t make me a TACTICAL-Gamer just an fair gamer ( as long as you could use the word fair in a war-game )
Tactical means to mean that i know the most stuff about the game and how to use most of my skills at the right time or just know whats the best decision on the right time.
cheers and beers

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Mirror, I think you were in my Zhohar led squad last night, but I was so busy keeping up with commands, and on the move, that I didn't have time to really concentrate on any one person in our squad, so I can't offer you any advice there.
As to the TG tag, I played on the server for awhile before I really "got it". I visited the TG site, read all I could in the SOPs and forum, and went back and played some more. One day, it just hit me that THIS was how the game is to be played. It was then that I realized that by the standards set forth, I had just become a TG "member", because I believed in the system whole heartedly. I'm not going to claim to be a much greater individual player than I was before discovering the TG server, but I like to think I'm becoming a better TEAM member, and that's what's it's really all about. If your sold on the TG way, apply the tag to your name and get back in the trenches!

Yay i was on the squad was a pretty hard fight and we did our best.
I guess your right about the Team-member. I just want both of it. being a better player in erasure my mistakes AND becoming a good team player. This community gives so much to me. It revives Battlefield for me! And now it´s my turn to pay this back ( i´m also becoming a supporting member soon i guess )
but thanks for the answer and your point of view.
cheers

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Wearing the TG tag is less about skill and more about maturity in regards to your approach and attitude. I could give a whit about the guy with mad <skillz> who <pwns> every enemy in sight. It's the guy who covers my back happily, even though the action is up front, that truly represents what it means to be TG.

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Don´t misunderstand me.
I don´t think that the guy who " pwnz " the most enemies is the most skilled player. if i just wanted to lead the score i wouldn´t join the TG community. i think about stuff like the SOP´s and reviving at the right time so that you don´t give the enemy 2 frags more. Or good and clear orders / or reporting enemies over viop so that everyone knows where they are ( not like " a few guys coming up on church " that don´t help anybody )
It´s more like i would like to know what i can do better.
For example :" Mirror you have to work on your revives. often you just revive and we both die immediately" or " you have to work on you orders at a SL. most of the time i don´t understand what you want from the team"
thats the kind of skills i´m talking about and the kind of help i´m searching.
cheers
Edit: Don´t let this be a conversation what it means to wear the tag or what TG is about cause there are many threads about this theme. The time when some one put the tag in front of his name is discretionary to everybody.
thanks

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Hi Black Mirror, I think I know how you feel in general. I'm a new TG member and am learning and having a lot fun doing so. Often times my score is dwarfed by the more experienced and skilled vets here and although it's humbling at times it also gives me a fun goal to work toward. In my honest opinion you play by all the rules and are an excellent / desirable SM and SL and I really don't see any reason why you wouldn't join TG officially.

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Yay thanks for that.
Your Score at the end of the round is just important if you still need some promotions. for example if you keep your team up alive and prevent them from getting dmg you won´t get that much points as a medic but did a awesome job. see what i mean?
it´s the same when i play engineer. at the end of the round i got a few repair points a one or two kills but that doesn´t matter. i maybe stopped a buggy rush and did my part to win this round. ( i respect all how play this kit as the favorite cause most of the time you don´t have much to do except of the maps with much armor )
Cheers and Beers

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
Alright Comrades. I finally put the Tag in front of my name cause i guess that i improved my teamwork enough to represent the community.
After i moved into another house and now get my Internet back ( an even worse connectoin but better than nothing ) i´m giving Squad leading a higher priority. I changed my way of giving orders and the way i report contacts. learned a lot from all of you and now i´m asking for further tips.. again
for the few who where unlucky enough to join my squads i´m asking you what do you miss? Also to all the commanders who are talking and working with me at that time.
i don´t want to be annoying be asking that questions but after you all told me to ask any questions.. i´m going to ask any questions.
so thanks for the help

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
The best thing you can do to increase you confidence in SL'ing is to lead. Make decisions and stand by them, but listen to your SM's also. Squad up with some SL's and watch how they play and what they do. Get on TS and ask for invites to squads or ask people to join yours.
Welcome to TG

Ditto. I started squad leading one afternoon when there were virtually no good squad leaders on the server to try to give my team a bit of tactical direction, only to find that people started flocking to my fledgling leadership. Then a couple of more regular members started joining my squads and I got some really good feedback.
I don't think I've managed to catch you online (what with the time difference and all), but feel free to ask for an invite or join up! Feel free to add me to your friends list, too.

Re: Mirror asking for some Tips...
IMO, and I don't think I'm alone, TG tags has nothing to do with score, skill, knowledge of the game, ect. It's about Mature gaming and fair play. If you follow the rules and SOP put on the tags. If you do your best, even if you think it's not good enough I'm proud to have you as a member of the community. Just be mindful of the rest of your squad, (Watching the minimap and big green number is half the battle, and most of the rest is listening and using voip.
Ok, after following the rest of the thread (Facepalm) ... I'd say keep your squad engaged by using voip, to let your squad know what you want to do. If your CO isn't giving you orders, Just do what you think is best for the team (Ticketwise, and tactics wise) Remember it's not about squadscore It's about your team winning the match. Be cautious if your team has the bleed, and responsible agressive if they do. And most important... Have fun.
