Re: TG Leadership: "BE", "KNOW", "DO"
Morale is definently a part that will affect gameplay in 2142. The people playing are REAL and therefore have emotions, and can be motivated. Morale is improved with Motivation or will to do something. That's why I usually get my team to do better when I'm CO, I cheer them up, give them advice, and encourage them to do the objective and win the day. And of course your Subordinates aren't going to be very helpful if you boss them around like a guy with a whip bossing around a slave. There are some parts which do not apply, but we can simply ignore them. And in 2142 you must be able to cope with stressful situations especially when you lose the initiative. We are real people, and at TG everybody is so dedicated they treat it like a real battle situation. Alhtough we know it is a game, we like to think it's reality and that is why we can apply some of this text to 2142.

Re: TG Leadership: "BE", "KNOW", "DO"
Great post Rasta. This could be put in the life skills section of the library under "applications of managing people in stressful situations".
These skills which could be added to ones repitoire for living utilized into multiplayer gaming.
For my squads, I try to be responsive and listen to them while keeping them focused on the objective at hand. Even when SL'ing in a learn TG squad I listen and discuss with my sm's the next and best way to move on. I want to enhance their experience and give them a feel of the decision making process. I feel the biggest barrier to SL'ing is being afraid of making bad decisions. I want people who are interested in learning to get comfortable in asking questions so they learn. Leadership is more about making your squad better than they would be on their own.
Personally, I've learned a lot in the last 4 months than I learned in almost 2 years of playing on the server through the friends I have made. Having patience and working with people from all experience levels helps everyone grow.Without darkness, how could we measure the light?

Re: TG Leadership: "BE", "KNOW", "DO"
It takes time but everyone enjoys being in charge from time to time. I know for me it all depends on who is on the server and if I'm having a good day or not. I can enjoy being SL, but I also agree that once in a while it is nice to kick back and follow orders.
Oh well worst case there is always the Infantry Guide...
Infantry Guide Part I: The Definition of Insanity
Infantry Guide Part II: Soldier Efficiency
Infantry Guide Part III: Save a Ninja, Save the World
Infantry Guide Part IV: Know Thy Enemy, Know Thyself
Infantry Guide Part V: The Devil is in the Details

Re: TG Leadership: "BE", "KNOW", "DO"
This may seem offtopic, but I was wondering how to join TG without having to pay. I dont need the reserve slot or any of the perks TG members get, but I want to have the tag.

Re: TG Leadership: "BE", "KNOW", "DO"
You're right it IS off topic... But all considering, understandable. So how to join TG? Well you posted here so you already joined, congrats and welcome.
Now almost always people are confused by this so let me explain. |TG| is not a clan we are a community of like minded gamers. In short anyone is free to join, just as anyone is free to take up the |TG| tag. Now the catch. Anyone can take the tag but by doing so you agree to represent our community and how we do things. If you have the |TG| tag you agree to play by and support our rules and our way of play. Putting on the tag is easy, keeping it is hard, as any |TG| tagged member is subject to scrutiny.
What do I mean by that? Well, a pubbie, new to the server doesn't really know any better typically gets at least one warning for bunny hopping, then a kick. A |TG| is expected to know the rules so he (or she) gets a kick first hop, and can earn a weeks rest (BAN) if they do stupid things. In short if you know the rules and still break them, expect the admins to take action without mercy. They're cool like that
So now that I've gone even further off topic...
Read our rules, agree to play by them, agree to do your best to represent what we do here. Read the Primer and poke around the forums in general, and then feel free to add the |TG| tag to your name.

I played with you a while back, Rasta, and now I know why I enjoyed running in your squad and you in mine. Excellent write up! And if it be plagerism, then it is an excellent plagerism!

Very nice compilation. The US Army has two schools that are required for promotion and they beat this stuff into you. Now to get ANCOC out of the way.
