Agreed. Painstakingly slow. Often covered in RDX and APM's by the commander. Plenty of time for the EU to get back before it's capped cause it takes so long. Has to be the longest cap in the game..does anyone know why?

I like to think of it as EU getting a "half uncapturable base"

It is possible to take but not if EU do their job correctly.

I believe that one of the most difficult flags to take is Core on Wake Island. Essentially, it is like taking a Titan. Defended by a competant squad, assaulting the core becomes the same as assaulting the Titan. The only break for the assaulters is that they can come down the ramps on the Titan's hanger deck.

Based on recent Shockwave Payback game, this flag swapped sides almost as many times as any other. A good squad can take this even when defended by another good squad. Its loads easier than attacking in Titan mode, and that still happens a lot! It comes down to how many people are needed to defend the flag. If 20 people were defending Core, then yes, very hard to take!

I'd have to say Crossroads on Fall of Berlin and Minsk first flag on 32p Conquest w/vehicles. Crossroads can be taken at the very beginning of the map quite often (I played one round as PAC in which everyone rushed forward while our SL went stealth to Outpost - we had all flags but Square in a matter of minutes). But once the enemy APC and Walker moves in, you may as well call it quits. I've seen PAC use an APC to pod over the south side, but for the most part the EU armor, engis, and assault medics defend it indefinitely.

As for Minsk, plenty of armor spawns right off the bat on the first flag, and buggies have to maneuver around the roadblocks on the flag itself. If an initial rush doesn't manage to get past roadblock or capture it, then the APCs that move in afterwards can easily mortar sneaky infantry. I've seen two instances when PAC squads have broken through - once the SL went stealth over the boundary to hills, and the other time we took a buggy over the north side. Both break-throughs could've been prevented by a single observant APC or gunship...

No doubt crossroads is one of the worst. But for some reason the two west CPs on Landing are always where there's a lot of firepower focused.

After reading these little stories, I come to the conclusion that I need to play this game more. You guys need like a War Stories forum, these were awesome
