Rockets & Area Control Basics
Rockets Rockets Rockets - Rockets are the long arm of your Squad.
There are spots on a map that you can gain control over with Rockets. If you have the control over them you can advance. If the enemy has control over them first it means you will most likely die.
Rocket Basic Basics:
You can adjust the range of your Rockets manually. Zoom in to some object on the map and your Zoom will automatically dermit the range. Now you can use your mousewheel to go 2 meters back or forth.
The basic maneuver:
A) Aim at a cover
B) Add 2 to 4 meters using your mousewheel
C) Aim slightly above the cover
D) Shoot Rockets
Controling specific Areas is espeically important fighting uphill. One of the best examples for this is Church on Cerbere. It is a very ugly flag to take because it can be defended very well from the outside. Your respawning soldiers will get spawncamped very easily. To prevent this you need to control the surounding ledges:

Controlling these spots will push enemies in originally superior positions into defense. Another example nearby is Southtown. It is an easier flag to take but not controlling this ledge will cost you many tickets and in the end the flag.

Another example - still going uphill - would be an approach to Command Center. If the enemy has those spots and can rain down Rockets and Grenades on you you will have a hard time advancing. The bodies of dead soldiers will be camped and cost you tickets or even the life of your Squadleader including all effort made to advance.

Light a Camp Fire:

Once you killed an enemy behind cover - don´t rest! Camp his body! Either the ticket will be secured and the poor guy is taken out of game for the next 15 seconds or even better some poor fool comes to revive him. In the best of all cases you can keep a little puddle of death going up there, keeping 2-3 players out of the action while you take the flag or advance.
Always remember:
Invasion of Normandy would have been a lot less bloddier if the Allied Forces had PK-Rockets.Last edited by Lyramion; 10-04-2008 at 10:45 PM.

Not only that, if you can control these areas you can push as most people will be keeping their heads down or reviving.

Re: Rockets & Area Control Basics
I would add that you only need two rocket to kill most people so usually only firing two rocket and keeping the two other ready for the revive help alot to kill that first medic since the second one will have two body to revive your chance of having your reload finished in time will be much greater.
And great one there Lyra
That South town edge really is a pain if it's not under control

Rockets Rockets Rockets - Rockets are the long arm of your Squad - Lection 2 Camp G
Today will lead us to CampG and the not always liked but often happening fight infront of Tollstation.
Step A) Put on the preasure
As you approach from far get rid of the Snipers often hiding behind the shields on the top catwalk or the far left and right catwalk ends. Now the most important thing to do next is gain control over the middle spot - to prevent the enemy team from getting into good Nade spam positions. Put a lot of rockets into the middle at various ranges about +4 to +8 in counting from the front cover.

Step B) Reach deep into the enemy base
Now that you suppressed the outer defenders at the easy spots you can pull in closer and starting to suppress the defenders deeper inside.
Look at the corresponding spots A B C and D. All those spots often have defenders behind them and can be reached by well ranged rockets. Again camp the bodies if you make a kill.

If you gain control over those points people trying to push in on the left and right high catwalk as well as people pushing in on the left and right outer corridors will have a better chance to push in or break through. They will not be mowed down instantly by people just sitting there and watching those corridors and catwalks.

Re: Rockets & Area Control Basics
Rockets are definitely a sure-fire way to reduce your enemy to a "puddle of death" as Lyra pointed out! They can reduce an over-confident attacking squad into a scattered pack of little school girls running for cover(only to be greeted with more rockets) that's for sure.
Great guide, looking forward to the next installment(s)

Re: Rockets & Area Control Basics
I remember from a youtube vid you were in Lyra that you were in Bommandos squad and you used rockets to gain a 'foothold' as Bommando said. At the church, this was at the northeast side I believe. I just thought I'd bring it up since it has rockets and such. Also using rockets to stop your enemy from moving to certain areas and forcing them into smaller ones is excellent as well. I think you mentioned that but I probably didnt understand it (words). Good tips and pictures, and definently a SEAL of approval, lol.
