Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

Don't forget that you can change the level of zoom on the minimap. If you are in close quarters with a cq weapon, zoom all the way in, if you're an egineer with a PDS deployed, zoom far out. Once you get used to changing the zoom levels and do it frequently enough, it becomes second nature to enter a building and zoom in and then zoom back out when entering more open spaces.

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

Interesting... I might start doing my SLing as Recon for now instead of Support. Having Diamonds as well as dots, instead of just dots on maps like Camp Gib can make a difference between PAC breaking through, and not. Thanks for the tip.

You need a recon in the squad to reap the benefits of this, yes, but it doesn't necessarily have to be the SL...

Damn: "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Lyramion again."

And yes, this post should be linked to in TG Guide Index!

This is true, however my style of play is to stay back as far as I effectively can as SL anyways, plus when SLing pubbies I'd rather not ask a pubbie to be Recon because they tend to get tunnel vision with that sniper rifle, which is something I could conscienciously avoid. If a good TG sniper is in my squad, I'll gladly let them be Recon instead, but it's rare that I get many such players in my squads ^^

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

Often I find myself going recon as SL, but w/o Otus. I guess my next unlock will be the Otus rather than those shiny Motion Mines.

Great post Lyra, I didn't really realize half of the stuff you put in.

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

You realize how useful the mini map is the first time you load a map all blue and snowy and still can play because of all the spotted ennemies.

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

When you hold down the "q" key and left click while looking at an enemy. His position is now marked on the minimap for your whole team to see.

your right, you do...

Basically, Q-spotting, is using using the Commo Rose to spot enemies. The default key to bring up the Commo Rose is the 'Q' key. Pressing the Q key brings up a list of options such as calling for a medic or thank you and also spotted. When you spot an enemy their potion is automatically put in the Mini map of everyone on your team.

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

and if u q-spot towards positions that enemies are usually in, you can identify enemies that are "near" the area you are looking at meaning you can't see them but they register

Re: Minimap Minimap Minimap

An interesting thing to note is that if you use the Q menu (and possibly the T menu) for anything while in a vehicle or on a ladder (<--VERY important on CQC maps), the map will automatically zoom all the way out. So don't forget to zoom it back in.

So that's not just me that happens to!? Amazing. Why the hell was that implemented? It's the most annoying thing in the world.
