for those peeps who say they get more hits when they stay on the gunship, its because the missiles move faster when they get to a certain distance if your locked on, the exact same as if your on the ground aiming at the nose and a saww slowes down.

oh and the most annoying thing possible for saww users to do, is to make a saww squad pod onto a roof/tower/height for a clear shot, get an ammo hub or box down, ((hub is much less obviousness)) and coordinate your shots so its fire+fire, pause fire+fire, pause ect ect so they can place their shieilds up whenever they want and u continuously fire because each one of your squad ((if u have 4 or more)) will have reloaded by the time the person just before you fires, and the best bit is u can all jsut perma track them as they try and outrun em.

>> i do this on titan maps when im against EU titan, simply because u can sit underneath the titan on its engines or on the front panel with a support and decimate its aircraft capabilitys and or if your low on the engines wipe out all of its undertitan guns<<

Yup! When the gunship is flying so low (and slow) that its landing gear is down while drawing fire, its going to hurt.

I just did a google search and came here. Very well written. by the way guys about the reloading after the second shot, I believe you can turn that option off in options then game I believe.

The hint that you using the SAAW correctly is when the Gunships are popping their shields as they begin their attack run over your position.

Besides, even if you miss. You've got the gunships out of your air space and away from your guys. And, the gunship will be a bit more wary of swinging your way again.

Dead or gone. That's a win win.

Very good write-up. I use the SAAW often as my 2nd most popular kit is Engie. I usually keep zoomed in on the 2nd shot. You can typically expect 1 of the 2 shots to hit the gunship if you are firing when it is reasonably close. 1 hit takes 50% damage on the gunship, about ~20% on the transport.

The psychological affect on the gunship pilot is worthwhile as well. I like how you write this up in your post as this is often a forgotten but important point with warfare.

Also, if you are near a FAV you can use your SAAW to destroy it as well. 2 shots destroys the FAV. Handy for buggy rushers! A good example is Dry Lake in Suez where the FAV comes in quick to the flag, anywhere in the Dry Lake area will destroy the FAV with the SAAW. So, with motion mines and SAAW, you can still be an effective Engie!

A while back I pointed out that MMB+ MMs mean that you can still be effective against armor if you're in close. While it means that you have to be under cover or hiding to engage, you're not helpless against them.

Lay the mines, throw the bait at the armor. The bait drags the mines to the armor.

I've heard the SAAW's don't do much damage to tanks (even in the back vents), is this true?

SAWs do negligle damage to tanks/wakers/apc's. It would be like throwing a rock at those vehicles...not very effective
