Re: PAC Assault on Berlin: What Works and What Doesn't
Today we had a good comeback on Berlin.
2 failed attacks on crossroads and 20 tickets down. I and Reap had the APC. I yeleld at Reader (the CO) that we are the APC Squad and even tho we kill whoring we still able to communicate and help out other SLs. I told reader to tell the other SLs to all get in the APC and pod on or over crossroad.
Said and done. Reader told the SLs and 30 seconds after we had 3 SLs in our APC. We rushed crossroad and people podded. Some died but xperimet ran off like a little burning bunny. They capped square to get bleed off.
After me and reaper continues to make up tickets with the APC. We soon got to even tickets and won the game by around 20 up.

Bumping this, it seems PAC are having a lot of trouble breaking out lately.

I think a good way for a break-out/capping of crossroads, is to do a fake out. Put pressure on one side of the map, let EU start pushing on that area, then sweep around and hit from the opposite end. Might not work on disciplined squads, but it's better than nothing.

Re: PAC Assault on Berlin: What Works and What Doesn't
multi squad coordination is the only way to do it...either that or rush the apc southward...if you get near the apc just run it south as fast as you can and pod our.....be quick...it's all about timing!

Re: PAC Assault on Berlin: What Works and What Doesn't
I tried the "wave of death" today, and we only made it to the Square before the pursuing enemy squad took us all out. Since I was too busy staying alive, I didn't notice what was going on back at crossroads, but by the time our squad died, Crossroads was ours. So I'd like to think we helped pull some defenders off Crossroads and other TG squads were able to take it fairly early in the game.
As a side-note: the recon run was fun! Lots of fast and furious action...

Re: PAC Assault on Berlin: What Works and What Doesn't
Good Point Doc the way I get the back base is i take my squad(All Recon) and sneak past all there guys with the IT-33 active camo once you get past road bloc you are fine unless they have not gotten their armor. What my squad does is capture the base and takes their armor then we fortify the base and sprint for Square. We have been successful many times and the best one was my squad got a score of 350 i got a score of 150 just by owning all of their guys with a sniper. So if you ever se Doc or I playing join our squad and we will show you the true TG way. Oh yeah try that if you have a chance it always works although you have to be very fast. My in game name is tacticsmridge if you have any questions on how to rank up from brij general send me a message and i will get back to you asap
Good Luck On The Field Soldiers.

Re: PAC Assault on Berlin: What Works and What Doesn't
That's very true. If you are slow, when you come rolling through you'll have the walker waiting to kill you, someone in the rorsch, millions of magic mushies (motion mines), APC to kill infantry, and all the EU squads assembled in certain positions. So yeah, you're boned if you don't be quick smart.
3 words: Speed, mobility, skill. I would've used 'stealth' instead of mobility but as far as I remember, it's much better to be mobile than to be stealthy as most of these are rush maps. I haven't played 2142 in half a year so I don't know If I'm wrong or right.|TG-69th|Berlancic2"Speed. Aggression. Surprise."
