Re: Can a good Sniper/Spotter team help a team?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Zeller's anti mine capability. A recon equipped with the Zeller on armor maps can not only serve as long range engagement, but also do long range anti mine work, clearing out roads that are too heavily defended for an engineer to safely use motion mine bait. Added with a cloak and RDX, a recon can also do anti vehicle work if he's good at RDXing tanks and APCs. When serving in this capacity, a recon can actually be very useful.

Example: EU has military outpost and PAC is attempting to retake:

In this case, the flag is heavily defended by two tanks with multiple infantry guarding against enemy engies. The recon can take out mines with the Zeller, clearing out the road for a push with armor.

Adaxa re-read my long post on page one, I have a whole section dedicated to using the Zeller to clear MMs =).

The rounds are very fast paced and as soon as you find a nice spot to settle and take out your scope, everybody has moved on to another objective. If you are a good mobile sniper then you can support your squad well. Games like Project Reality are for resting for spots for quite a long time and supporting your team through their advance to that objective. If you can be a mobile sniper, you can be pretty supportive to a squad

They really can only be good for squad support as large, infantry based assaults, the infantry takes out most of the targets before you've even fired. I don't think you can support your team but as a mobile sniper you can be of help to your or another squad.
