How to take down a tank as engi with a buggy
I don't know if anyone apart from me has really done this alot...at least I haven't noticed anyone doing it. But you know how most people drive a buggy past a tank, jump out, turn around, then fire the pilum? I want to suggest a different, harder but faster method...F3!
1. Boost your buggy straight towards and past the tank on the side
2. Switch to F3 when you are parallel with the tank
3. Fire pilum.
The hard thing is to judge when to switch to F3...if you switch too early you're screwed because you can't hit the back, if you switch too late you're further from the tank, so you need more time to aim. Also it's kinda dangerous driving straight at a tank. But the good thing about this is that the F3 spot automatically switches your view so that you're facing back, which gives less time for the tank driver to turn its turret.
Note: If you're facing PAC tank..you'll have to do a half circle around it. If you drive past the tank on his left, he's gonna turn the tank left...so you'll have to circle behind him and to the right to get his back when he turns.
The reason I put this as only able to take down tanks is that no other vehicle is a OHKO in the back...but if you see a damaged APC or walker....you can try it!
If most |TG| people do do this already, sorry if this is spam. Otherwise, please don't use it on me :P

I've never even heard of the original thing before, this sounds like it came straight out of a Lethal Weapon movie.

This works, I did if before in a two-man buggy team filling the F1 and F3 seats. Worked pretty nicely, good for taking down APC's too if you hit the vents.

The original is just what you usually see...guy drives buggy past tank, jumps out and shoots.
And yeah Emperor a two man team works, but only with good coordination...else the guy in F3 doesn't know how to adjust for buggy movement. With one person the buggy is slowing down, and not turning, so easier to adjust for shooting, so I mentioned the one person case in particular

A strategy I've found successful in the past is to run a support who can bail and EMP lock the tank, leaving the engineer free to do his business without worry of being shot or ran over.

What they said. This has been fairly common practice in the past, at least for the 3rd--we call it Buggy Doom. The lack of vehicle maps in the rotation recently has cut down on the need for anti-armor tactics.

I'm a fan of having a support driving and an engineer in the back dropping motion mines. The ability to lock down and maybe even destroy multiple vehicles is tough to pass up.
