for me its a balance of fun vs tickets
I have done a lot of stand offs and don't really want (yet again) to be in 20 mins doing rockets, so i often push an attack, unless the commander specifically says not to
i agree. that's the reason why i like to play EU more than PAC. on PAC site there is more risk to waste tickets because you get bored. on EU site you have to be more concentrated, when PAC is staying in front of toll, because there is less room to avoid rockets and grenades an there are more hot revives.

Re: Harbor/Toll Standoff: Who Has the Advantage?

Well as far as I know, defending will have more casulties than attacking. And toll station has very good stactic defensive positions, which makes it A LOT MORE HARDER TO ASSAULT AND SECURE.

Well, yes EU can regain harbour for the bleed against PAC. But really, think how EU got pushed out of harbour in the first place, what if the PAC team try it again?

That really is a hard one! The defensive positions at toll station are quite good, except the can get bombarded by orbitals, walkers, rockets, grenades and effectively suppress any fire that comes from them. If the PAC can force a breach somewhere and every PAC soldier funnels in there, they can overrun EU very quickly and take the flag.

I'm not sure about the EU case. But for PAC, spread out to make sure the EU don't try to sneak behind you, and concentrate most of the forces into a particular area where you can quickly funnel in lots of soldiers. I like the sides, that means that if you think quick, you can be on the west or east flank of the enemy. And the more soldiers funneling in can eliminate those other soldiers because usually with toll station, EU squads or soldiers are covering certain breach points, like catwalks or the centre or side entrances. And are too focused and lose situational awareness. If you force a fast breach, you can use that to your advantage and quickly overrun the EU forces there. If up on tickets go for it, if down, don't uneccesarily waste tickets, only for the particular place where you wish to breach, in the long run it'll be worth it. This does go against my first opinion, but it really can work. I think that harbour can be easily defendable too. Alternatively, fall back to harbour, and as spiff said, you can use all those gidgets and gadgets and can use those rooftops to your advantage. Higher ground is always an advantage in a firefight, but snipers prey upon those. On the ground it can be easy too, really, there are 3 entry points to harbour from toll. (The flag is the origin) the southwest, the southeast, then the wesy. The west can be hard to recognize, but as you should know, the harbour flag is flanked left and right by 2 buildings. Say you were looking at the map, look east of the left building, and there is a little side alley that runs around a building that is southwest of the left building. This can allow the EU soldiers to quite frankly destroy the southwestern PAC defenders from the inside. The southeast is the 'road' if you could call it that, that the walkers and buggies use. It can get very close quarters around there sometimes as the building directly south, about 30m off of the harbour flag can be taken by EU soldiers to fire on southeast defenders. The primary thing is to stop the EU soldiers moving straight up the southeast to the flag, or by flanking east into the right building off of the harbour flag. If you have squads covering these points and the primary places which are most risky to fall, then the PAC can force the EU to keep pushing and lose tickets consequently. If you have a walker as PAC it is a lot easier to defend the south east, but you are exposed to the enemy walker and easy to target for EMP + orbital strikes.

I'll edit when I've come up with an answer for the EU.
