Grenade Spammer Help
I have been playing on a server that allows grenade spam/RDX spam (Because it is one of the only one's with people on it at 6 AM, my only playing time). I am sick of the whole other enemy army lining up and throwing grenades, making an impenetrable barrier; they constantly kill me before I can even see them. Do any of you know any good strategies against them? I would appreciate any help. (Sorry if this has been addressed before, I tried searching, but found nothing)

Re: Grenade Spammer Help
I'm assuming you mean Titan mode, on corridor defense? You could always just go around, or over them, otherwise.
If it's corridor defense you're dealing with, than does the server allow for Shield Overloading? If they do, go Engineer kit and hit the Console 3/4 door shield with either default rockets or Pilum. After 25 or shots, you'll destroy the console.
If they're holing up in consoles 3 and 4, then you can throw grenades in from outside the corridor and still hit the consoles, after enough grenades (don't know how many), you'll eventually destroy them. If they're holing up in the core itself, you can hit the core with rockets from the vents all the way on the other end. Damage is slow, but you can still do it.
But the best way to win a Titan round when they're holed up like that is to go take all the silos.
Now if it's not Titan, then the only maps where this would be a problem would be Cerebere, Berlin, or CampGib. Anywhere else you could just go around. If it's CampGib try a buggy rush with a recon kit. Bail out of the buggy before you hit motion mines if they're there and cloak to the next flag. It works better if you're a squad leader with a full squad that can spawn on you.
On Cerebere try a buggy or walker rush up the west side of the map. It's often not motion mined on our servers, so I doubt it would be mined on other servers.
On Berlin, you have multiple routes of attack, try bringing the APC along the south side and podding over the fence, you might be able to make a breakthrough and cap a back flag.
If you need help on a different map, let us know, I'm sure we have something to help ya out.

Re: Grenade Spammer Help
Hm...thanks for the help. In fact, the maps are conquest and not Titan that I am having difficulty with. The enemy army sometimes just makes a barricade of grenade throwers, such as on Cerebre landing and Camb Gilbraltar, and my teammates think it's fun to just charge in and get themselves blown to bits. I'm not much of a vehicle kind of guy (unless I have to be), so do you know any infantry-based approaches to avoiding/eliminating an army of grenade spammers? I should have clarified this initially. Thanks.

Re: Grenade Spammer Help
1. Listen for the hiss. If necessary, turn up your sound settings -- you can usually hear the hiss just before the nade explodes. Cover is absolutely indestructible in this game, and it doesn't "leak" damage -- even a bit of cover that you find while the nade is hissing will help a LOT.
2. Always keep moving. Never ever go prone, ever -- it reduces your reaction time and makes you easier to headshot. Just stand on your feet, and move around. Jump and throw your grenades to get more distance, but don't ever stand still.
3. Stay away from other people. This has to be a healthy balance -- on one hand, you can't lonewolf, but stay far away enough that a nade blast won't kill you and someone else. This is good because it'll make it easy for friendlies to revive you if you go down, and even better for you if friendlies go down -- free point for you when you revive them.
4. Pay attention to your minimap. Look at where people are, look what they're shooting. LIVE inside your minimap. Just constantly get used to pressing N (the key to zoom in and out of the minimap). Press N like a psycho -- learn to get the whole picture of the battlefield. The more intel you have, the more likely you are to avoid those nades.
5. Think what you would do in their shoes. If you're all up on the second floor in Camp Gibraltar Central Camp -- then get up high yourself, set your rockets to the right range, and take 'em out.
6. Rocquettes! You can shoot people behind cover. Look on your minimap, and then try to hit people that are really far away. Remember to right click at what you want to shoot (say, a piece of cover), then increase your distance by a couple of clicks, and then fire. The increased distance means your rockets explode a bit further, and will kill the people behind the cover.
6. Be a nurse. Just run around, and wait for friendlies to die. Trust me, you can earn a lot of points by doing this. Just wait for people to do silly things, get them up, and go elsewhere. At any given time, your team is rife with silly people. Look after them like a mother hen -- fix their mistakes.
7. Don't use a sniper rifle in a standoff. You are rocket bait, and you will be likely nade bait. Also, you can't revive, and other people can't take your kit to revive.
8. Find a buddy, and make a squad with him. Stick with him as close as possible, and you each focus on keeping each other alive. Lock the squad if you have to, and just the two of you focus on keeping each other alive with medic kits. This will improve your situational awareness and your general play -- you'll have to know what you're shooting at, and in addition, where your buddy is -- if he's alive or if he needs a revive.
I guess I went a bit overboard on all that, but the key thing is to outsmart people. Find out what they're doing, look for a pattern, and then exploit that. It's all about who's smarter.Fight!

Re: Grenade Spammer Help
But they aren't being rude by spamming you with nades? Outsmart them and leave them nade spamming a worthless corridor.. This isn't a bug, and is a good tactic. Remember you can't do it alone, and still need support!
I've had 2 people defending an already destroyed console before, and strangely enough, people were still attacking it! Very fun to watch...BF3 Soldier: DrSparky
