Re: The Baur.
The Scar is my choice. If I'm on EU, I always favor it over the Voss and Baur. When on PAC I do use the Baur, as it is essentially the big brother of the Scar. To all the Voss users who swear by it, next time your EU, use the Scar as it is the stepping-stone between the Baur and Krylov/Voss. Doesn't have as much recoil, has more bullets, lots of damage, and shooting from the hip with it is the most accurate I've seen I've seen in all the assault rifles.
Currently, I myself am working on taming the Baur and believe me it IS hard, but just give up on it. I know that the Voss and Krylov are easier to master and if you spend a lot of time with them then you can end up thinking that they are the best, but if you master the Baur on the other hand-Just look at what Sidious and LEHF do. Generally they're 1st and 2nd every round.

Re: The Baur.
It's so very tempting to think that the harder a weapon is to master, the better you are once you do master it. But this really isn't the case. You may feel more of a sense of accomplishment once you've mastered it, but that doesn't make it the superior weapon.
I'm really not trying to say the Baur can't be used well or that certain people don't use it very well. But I want to dismiss this ridiculous idea that the harder it is to learn a weapon, the better the weapon must be.

My first weapon (rifle/assault rifle) to down a whole squad was the Scar. In one clip

Re: The Baur.
Same here. Especially at close/medium range you don't need more than one clip to earn a combat efficiency pin.

Re: The Baur.
The SCAR11 is fantastic for quick and accurate hip-firing. It's long-range abilities however are questionable at best, even at stationary targets. The Baur's characteristic is the polar opposite. It has terrible hip-firing accuracy but is beast at long range.

Re: The Baur.
Quite right, but in most other aspects the Scar and Baur are similar. Large damage per round, slower RoF than the Voss or Krylov, and arguably the two sexiest looking guns in the game.

Re: The Baur.
A little bit off... but it takes 8 bullets to kill somebody with Voss in my case. What about the Baur?

Sidious (I think) posted damage numbers somewhere earlier in the topic. I think the number for the Baur is 4 and the Voss is 6. Given the number of rounds in each weapon's clip that meant the Baur can drop someone using less rounds but the Voss drops more people because of the larger clip.
