Re: The Baur.
Yeah, I thought the Baur's recoil, etc. made it an almost impossible weapon, however, because of my desire for individuality (EVERYONE seems to use the Voss), I decided to try the Baur out again. I have noticed that with care and careful aiming, it can be one of the best weapons. I personally always use it on auto. If I am careful, I can get single shots on auto and still be ready if someone rushes me. Paired with the Hergoz Shotgun for close encounters, this is one of my favorite weapons.

Re: The Baur.
OK. I use the baur almost exclusively. I used to use both the the standard assult guns over both the voss and the baur, but zho is correct in saying the baur is sexy. What can I say...
So, as many have said, the baur is not a spray and pray weapon, but you don't have to use it like a sniper rifle with a 20 shot clip. Lots of people carry around a single shot baur - i used to do this as well - but every time I was surprised by a close combat situation(ie. rounding a corner, someone dropping off a balcony...) i was dead before I got off the third shot. Trying to be precise enough for a close range headshot with both you and your enemy strafing and squirreling around is nearly imposable. I decided to make a change in my baur strategy, and give the gun a chance on full auto. Most are correct in saying that burst are your friend. I fire in bursts of 2 or 3 at medium range targets. HOWEVER, if i have the drop on the target (i see him/her first) i try to make a quick change to single fire as I scope. This gives much better accuracy and an overall quicker kill at medium or long range. The reason I carry the baur in full auto is for those instances when you round the corner or are in a building and expect a close combat encounter. The difference in using the baur as opposed to any other gun at close range is accounting for the recoil. You can't start off trying for headshots, or even bodyshots. I start at the knee almost. I uses a burst of 4 or 5 and let the recoil rip the shots up to the head. usually one rip will kill, but if you miss the head, it is easy enough to pull the baur back down and start the rip again. on occasion, I will be killed before the second rip, but rarely. (against a good voss user or a shotgun) If your query prones, start at their head and let the recoil take you down their back.(I may be wrong, but i think back shots do more damage than front body shots) The baur does not make you invulnerable, and I can't honestly say that it is "better" than the voss or krylov, but it is sexy.
Good luck I hope these tips help. The baur is a good dog; you have to take it out, play with it and train with it before either of you will love one another.

Re: The Baur.
I think my biggest grief with the Baur is that I play "Assault/Medic" and not "Assault/Sniper". Always deep in enemy territory with quick revives and quick disposals of enemies.

Re: The Baur.
I love the baur for long range shots. I have regularly sniped snipers right on the top of command center from not so far from the flag at roadblock on cerbere landing. Dunno how far that is, 200m+?
Also, its great, especially in close combat 3 or 4 shots point blank and your enemy is down.
The baur is definatley not a 'spray-and-pray' gun. Using the sight is recommended

Re: The Baur.
I know I get giddy when I'm on EU and see a PAC assault kit just laying there begging me to pick it up, which I do and usually end up with a Voss and 3 rockets (or smoke grenades). I'm still amazed that more people don't play with the Krylov after literally years of the rest of us praising it so much.

Re: The Baur.
but the baur is 2 ORSM!
I don't understand people, especially in this game at times. Just based on the fact of how bad hit boxes get messed up by simple movements I cannot recommend a weapon with so little ammo and such a low rate of fire. Sure you get more damage per bullet but DPS wise the Voss and Krylov win out. The voss can 2 shot people in the head just like the ORSM baur so how is that for a pea shooter.
Any one you kill at long range has a huge chance of being revived very easily.
No gun should be a 'spray and pray' gun, they all have sights for a reason and I bet it has something to do with aiming.Reapator, overlord of ponies

Re: The Baur.
Have people not tried the Voss on single shot? I found I could pump out bullets almost twice as fast and be as accurate as the Baur. Plus you have double the ammo. Even as a distance weapon it's better.

Re: The Baur.
Things is, we can all analyse the statistics of the different assault weapons for example damage per min, damage per bullet etc, how many rounds in a clip etc., all day, but one major factor rules over them and that is 'the user' YOU. If your not shooting accurately it doesnt matter what gun you've got. Period. I have shot 3 people dead in a row no problem with the Baur. I must admit maybe they didnt all have full health but still, I have done it a few times.
Doesn't matter to me that I only have 20 rounds in my Baur. Once I have finished engaging a contact, I find somewhere to reload. I never go into a battle with less than a full clip or even with anything less than 100% health. If I find myself in a situation where my clip has run out, I run away or make an attempt with my pistol. Sometimes its better to wound a person nd let someone else finish them. 'Kill damage assist' Mmm
FredWest66's elementary tips for using the Baur........
1) Stay fully loaded. Press 'R' all the time
2) Stay fully loaded
2.5) Stay fully loaded
2.5.5) Stay fully loaded hah
3) Use the sight (if you see a red dot coming round the corner for example, crouch, get your scope up and wait for them to pop round. You will win.
4)Keep full health. Even if you do run out of ammo, keeping full health might mean you have the advantage over your contact.
5)Aim for the chest, shoot them in the face!
6)Snipe them fools (use single shot). When using the baur you are also a sniper
7)Use small, controlled bursts of fire for accuracy.
8)If shooting a moving target, shoot just before it!
9)If you don't kill them straight away, disengage, take cover, run away, and someone else will finish them off for you. Keep an eye out for them 'Kill damage assists' that way you'll know your contact is down!
10) Take the battle to them. If someones behind cover and they are shooting at you, wait for them to hide again and run up to them (suicide you may say) but, three or four close range rounds with the baur are gonna kill your contact dead. Plus you can be happy knowing they'll be pissed that you actually ran up to their cover and nailed them before they could pop thier head back up to shoot at you.
Sometimes you can be lucky and find 2 or 3 people behind there, all re-loading or with their medipacks out, bliss. (works 80% of the time)
I love the Baur!
