Good players can make bad guns work, especially in 2142 where a lot of the work comes in the form of movement and position.

I support this arguement with my seal of approval. If you have any sane arguements to make against this you have to pass me first !

Reaperassault's amended version of FredWest66's elementary tips for using the Baur........

    1) Stay fully loaded. Press 'R' all the time

    2) Don't engage under prepared

    3) crouch and zoom, you accuracy will improve and help you win you engagement

    4) Keep full health, because when you run out of health you are dead

    5) aim, it helps you kill other people

    6) Snipe them fools... wait I mean use rockets

    7) controlled bursts of fire are more accurate than holding the button down, try a double tap.

    8) If shooting a moving target, use rockets because the hit boxes make moving targets hard to hit.

    9) If you don't find yourself in a good situation, disengage, take cover, run away, and comeback with an IDS and rockets.

    10) Take the battle to them, with grenades. If someones behind cover and they are shooting at you, throw a few grenades for goodness sakes. Hell you can even use rockets for this one.

    I love killing people!

    ^^ This

That is how I use my Baur. Know when to use the rifle and know when not to use it (in favor for rockets and grenades).

Although there are rare occurences when I will use single shot for long range instead of rockets because I don't want to get noticed due to my rocket trails or because the enemy is constantly moving which causes my rocket to explode near him harmlessly (yes my rocket accuracy still sucks but I am working on it!).

    Re: The Baur.

I don't have the Baur unlocked yet (I'm such a noob), but I always choose it for my first or second field unlock. I love it - I try to use it as a long/medium-range weapon rather than a 'run around the corner, oh no where's my Voss' kinda gun. I guess my years of PR have forced my mind into thinking that long range > close range, but it works for me.

Also, as others have said *, it's the in-game equivalent of lighting a stick of dynamite with your cigar, then throwing it through a window and riding a motorcycle through the resulting explosion.
    Awesome.

    *(not in those exact words)

Well you shouldn't be using 10 shots on one target. Taking 3 down isn't difficult, if you're intelligent with your shots.

Taking down 3 is bullet costly if the enemies are not dumb but actually moving around and zig zag < FIXED

Actually, I find that with the Baur, the zoom tends to be too much for a close-in target, so I usually crouch in and shoot from the hip or just move around while shooting full auto/with a Herzog.

    5) aim, it helps you kill other people
    QFT

    6) Snipe them fools... wait I mean use rockets
I disagree. If one is at long range, I find rockets take too long to reach the target (thus being easily avoidable) and making the shooter overly vulnerable (due to the trail of the rocket).

At long range, I just aim carefully and fire semi-auto. Generally, it is enough to inflict some damage or at least cause the enemy to take cover, after which you can then shoot rockets or close range for grenades/full auto/etc.

    7) controlled bursts of fire are more accurate than holding the button down, try a double tap.
I frankly find the full-auto Baur to be useless at mid to long range because of its uncontrollable recoil. Up close, it does pwnify, but as the target becomes smaller due to distance, the recoil of a two-shot burst sometime only lands one bullet. As such, I can only recommend switching to semi-auto at medium-long ranges.

    8) If shooting a moving target, use rockets because the hit boxes make moving targets hard to hit.
I partially disagree. If your target is running perpendicularly to you, it is best to use rockets/grenades. However, if at even a slight angle, a Baur can still hit and kill moving targets from a decent range, in my experience.

Otherwise, I agree with your principles.

Killing three targets with a Krylov or Voss is also bullet costly, correct?
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

    Re: The Baur.

All weapons are tools. Use the right tool for the right job. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of each weapon and use them in situations where they are advantageous.

I happen to have a much higher accuracy with the Baur than any other weapon, but that's probably because I use it in single shot at long range or short bursts at medium range. The recoil certainly makes it a pretty useless spray-and-pray weapon. I find it good as an almost-sniper rifle. No high-zoom scope, but comparatively large ammo clip and much quicker re-fire and reload.
My lowest accuracy weapon is the Voss, but I only use that for short-range stuff like clearing out buildings.
I have to agree though that I usually equip the Krylov/Scar for general purpose use. The weapon I equip depends on the map and situation. In the typical TG maps like Cerbere Landing and Camp Gibraltar I will select the Voss and the Baur for longer-range maps like Verdun or Suez Canal (unless my squad is already engaged in closer quarters).
I want a semi-automatic grenade launcher for the support role... like the one available in Aliens vs. Predator 2. All those different "warhead" types would be extremely useful.

    Re: The Baur.

So this has gone even further on mocking how bad weapon Baur is >.<

If you can't use it it doesn't mean others can't or that others would do better with the weapon you are good with. I don't use Voss because it gets boring, and I can do exactly the same with Baur. You can't take walker down in 15secs with Baur(s), but if I run under it I either get fragged by a friendly or shot in the face by the gunner!

Baur is not bad for the aim, if you can use it, it needs practice and with Voss you are already great when you get the weapon. I like using those weapons that other mock, it gives variety to the game where so many players have 100x more kills with one weapon, but are completely equal or even worse when using another.

Believe or not Baur is not a bad gun, even if Lyra doesn't give this post hes mark of approval

Re. Using semi-auto. Do people find it difficult to simply, click their mouse once? There's no need to switch to semi-auto in reality, you just have to fire one round at a time..... I cannot recall a time when I actually switched to semi-auto. There is no need for it.
