Rorsch Sniping
I've recently discoverd my love for the Rorsch (not the anti-aircraft version). It's quite the impressive beast when going against vehicles and I especially enjoy helping out a comrade who is in a battle with enemy armor.
It's also a lot of fun employed in the anti-infantry role. I'm curious though, what is the best approach to aiming when you're engaging infantry?
I seem to have my best success zooming in and firing on heads as they pop above walls, but seem to have less success firing at infantry in the open. I've gone back and forth between aiming directly at their bodies vs aiming at their feet and can't really decide which way works better. I've fired at guys standing in the open, hit right at their feet, and nothing. The guy doesn't move, my aimpoint doesn't move, I've fired again, and kill. So there seems to be some inconsistency.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
Zoom in and aim to the left of whatever you're aiming at. The Rorsch pulls to the right of the cross-hair, and thus I usually aim about in the middle of the right side cross-hair bar. Other than that, it takes practice. But, as you say, Rorsch sniping is fun.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
I actually sniped three people in a game, a Walker and a tank. It's pretty fun, but kind of dull when the place you're guarding isn't seeing much action.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
I tend to aim to the left and down a small fraction just to ensure I'm getting a shot at the torso.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
It's always fun I remember almost taking out an entire squad by myself doing that, and getting someones comment over TS lol.
I aim a bit down and left too, although I absolutely hate it un-zoomed, the rorsch can't hit a thing like that unless it's at point blank or as big as a buggy a at a few feet, or bigger and at a few more feet away. Practically you have to zoom for just about every shot and then un-zoom whenever they move so you can keep up with them.
Maybe un-zoomed isn't the issue, maybe I just want the zoomed to move at least a little bit faster.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
Your sensitivity for vehicles should be increased so that you have quicker control of the Rorsche. Then your aim should be like 1 pixel to the left of what you want to hit. Always zoom in unless your aiming for a vehicle that is side-on and very near!!!! Moving targets are harder to hit so if you see one stop, he's probaly aiming rockets at you. He must die first! Then back to moving targets.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
Great tips - thanks.
I think my favorite Rorsching map is Remagen Bridge - a good mix of infantry and vehicle targets. Nothing like taking out a Goliath piece by piece.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
Rorsch sniping is devastating on maps like Tunis Harbor and mini Tunis. If you can spot an SL (psst, he has that giant floating SHOOT HERE sign near his head) and his squad running from point A to point B, Rorsch him. Inevitably, a few squad members will stop to (futiley, of course) try and revive him, and that's when you line up another 2-3 shots and single-handedly secure 4-5 tickets and stop a major enemy movement. Now that's efficiency!

Re: Rorsch Sniping
And for the love of all that is holy, be aware of your teammates around you. Like riding a motorcycle, you have to be aware for yourself and others around you. I couldn't tell you how many times the delay in firing has caught a teammate running across my line of sight.
The off center firing becomes more apparent at range, but it is very true. The rorsch is also very effective at killing infantry as opposed to critically wounding them (revivable), but not 100%.
I think the big question though, regarding rorsch's, is what maniac decided the placement on some of these things.

Since BF42, I've always thought the guys at Dice got drunk one night and placed these things. AA completely surrounded on 3 sides, Rorsch in front of a billboard, etc.
And it never fails that there's a pole between me and whatever target I want to engage.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
A Rorsch shot isn't a guaranteed kill. Now its very, VERY uncommon, but I HAVE revived someone who I saw get taken out by a rorsch. I do not recommend it, since you are likely to get blasted by the rorsch too, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

Re: Rorsch Sniping
Another good tactic to increase your longevity in the rorsch against walkers is to fire a shot, run out and run back in. Often the walker will keep shooting at you and allow you to get several shots off.
