Favourite Suez Canal Tactics
Inspired by CodyComm104 and his post putting his tactics for Belgrade up, I thought I might put forward initial strategies for Suez as well. I'm not sure if this sort of thing has been posted before, but considering the general tactics of it I'm sure it has -- just back a few years in the posts xD. If anyone could link up a similar page that'd be helpful (I'm fairly computer illiterate).
Suez can be fun, but its also fairly hard to attack or defend on, since its such a wide open map. Two gunships on the PAC side (on the usual Suez map) make it even harder for the EU defenders. When it comes to attack, I'd avoid going for Oil right away. Get one squad going for the back flag in one of the buggies (a well known tactic that most people prepare for, but if it works then its a great help), and then fill the other buggy with two or three other SL's and then blast down the line dropping a squad off at dry lake, Trash and Outer as SM's or a specialty squad brings up the armor. I realise that I'm talking about more people than the standard 23 person teams, but I'm talking in general terms and trying to include variations. If you get two SL in the secondary buggy then Dry Lake and Outer would be the priorities. Basically the main point of the strategy is to use the second buggy for all its worth and attack quickly on those backflags. Don't wanna leave a SL stranded in base and force them to attack Oil, since Oil is a pretty worthless flag -- yea I know a tank spawns there with some buggies... but considering what spawns on the other flags its not so much a priority, especially when you take in its geography and placement on the map.
Defense is so much harder than attacking on this map. You have so many flags, they're spread out and you don't know where the enemy is gonna go till they start moving. Top that off with trying to keep bleed on as long as possible (at least until tickets are even) and you've got a tall order to fill for any team. Best bet is the have a squad spawn at Oil, Dry lake and Trash, with the last squad/specialty/whatever-you-got-left spawning the back flags. Try to keep that initial rush tied up, put down tons of mines and force the enemy to rely on travelling on foot and/or assaulting Oil. SM's can bring up that armor in the back, so theres really no need for a SL (unless its a Specialty Squad) to spawn in another location. Idea is like any other defense map -- hold the line and hold out as long as you can, bleed them at every opportunity but keep to your post. If you're good and/or lucky you'll force them to walk on foot to Oil, which is ideal since even if they cap it, its a near worthless flag. Worse-case-scenario you gotta bail back and try to re-cap a flag, since on this map you always want your enemy east of your position; north or south isn't bad but you definately don't want them West, or otherwise surrounding you.
Thoughts, criticisms and other strategies are more than welcome. Also, sorry if I've ended up re-making another thread o_o'''

Re: Favourite Suez Canal Tactics
Inner Bridge Lock is a HUGE flag for EU. When it's under EU's control, it spawns 2 flags, a gunship, a Walker, and 1-2 Buggies. Also it's the easiest flag to defend against an all-out assault from PAC. As you mentioned, PAC usually goes for a rush on Inner near the beginning, so I usually have an Inner defense squad, tasked with defending that key asset. If there's already an Inner squad, or I don't feel like sitting on defense, I'll make an "East 3" squad, which focuses on defending Oil Station primarily, but makes quick strikes to Trash Dump and Dry Lake if the enemy happens to capture one of those flags.
Past that my tactics usually depend on the flow of the game. Besides those two ideals, I don't really go in with any pre-planned action. Defending Inner, and harassing PAC at Oil/Dry/Trash, are two key aspects to an EU victory.

Oh yea for sure. Starting tactics are the only thing that can be thought of in advance. Initial spawns/targets etc.

Re: Favourite Suez Canal Tactics
My favorite strategy on this map, is to skip it. I hate this map more than 64 player Minsk or Camp G standoffs.

Re: Favourite Suez Canal Tactics
Defending this map, as stated earlier, is a real tough thing to do. If the rear bases are lost (inner bridge), EU is pretty much crippled, because they will be flanked. However, if oil/trash dump is taken, Pac can spawn much closer to the rest of EU flags, and gain artillery. The best bet for an EU defense would probably be to have a squad dedicated to mining/defending inner (and outer if need be) bridge locks, and a few squads moving from oil/trash/other outer flags in fav's / tanks, wherever needed (or they can be posted at either flag, depending on how much PAC changes their attack orders). I think that the ability to move quickly around this map is crucial, since PAC has so many different routes to get places. Light armor is a must-have, as well as motion mines (I would say at least 2 engy's per squad).
Also, this map may have a role for a sniper in each squad, to rdx flags if the squad has to move to another location. The sniper can q-spot and pick off any people trying to take the flag the squad is moving to, and can blow up their rdx if the flag they just left is ninja'd.
