Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
I have to disagree on this. A video I watched when 2142 first came out suggested aiming for the crotch. This always works for me, when I aim at the chest, it's a 50/50 crapshoot.
I also don't think prone spamming is the best way for a revive, a running revive is best, plus most time when someone needs a revive, I'm already standing there or I had to shoot my way to the body, which means I wait until I get to the body to switch to my defib.A captain of the most awesome IHS ever and remember to burn before you pillage.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
I personally prefer the crouch defib in a swift motion. Both styles have their advantage and disadvantages.
If you crouch:
- More vulnerable during the revive
- Quicker to get away after the revive
If you prone dive:
- Small protection at the start of the revive
- Slow in getting up and getting away
I have to admin for the most critical SL revives I use prone dive. Since me getting away doesn´t count.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
we should have a contest to see which is more effective, the crouch revive, or the prone revive. I don't find it to be much slower to go prone than to crouch. And now that you mention it catman, I do aim lower on the chest, more towards the legs.
Personally, I have much success with the prone maneuver, and that is why I am championing for it. I enjoy the minimized target I present when I am prone.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
I usually don't have to aim half the time because my screen is filled with body. Yay Prone dive.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
Never did like going prone (see aiming topic) and that includes here. Watched the SOP video for revives and decided to follow one of the other methods mentioned there.
Pull out defib.
When at body crouch, defib.
Haul #$%@# to cover.
It's an acceptable SOP so, neener on your proneness. :P
There's also the politeness factor. When you're down and don't get a revive understand that your view of the battlefield is severely limited. Don't be pissed if you don't get a revive and definitely don't gripe about it on VOIP. Chances are there were reasons why the revive wasn't incoming per SOP. There are some people I'd love to "forget" to revive because of complaints about a lack of revives when their body was nade spammed, under fire, area not cleared, etc. Goes double when they don't call it out.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
I would add: call out what you see on your "I'm-a-dying-but-not-yet-dead-soldier" cam! (what others call the deathcam). If your body has an enemy shotty hiding right next to it behind that cover there; there is a grenade hissing on your body; an entire squad is about to come around that corner - TELL THE MEDIC! no need to lose 2 (or more) tickets.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
Or you could try for the running revive. Difficult to master, but oh so rewarding.
Steps:
1) Spot friendly dead person.
2) Clear the area around said person.
3) Whip out defib.
4) Procced to sprint in a straight line towards dead person.
5) About three steps from the body stop sprinting and switch to walking while immediately beginning defibbing. By the time it registers, you aim should be directly on the body.
6) Get the hell outta there.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
With some practice you can actually do a full sprint revive. Run for your target, get the defib out when you know the area is clear (enough), hold fire, quickly release then press again on the sprint button and the defib sequence will begin. Look straight down, time it right, and you can revive while sprinting over the body at full speed. With some fancy fingerwork you can do a sprinting prone-dive revive as well but I wouldn't try it unless you're a piano virtuoso.

Re: Make yourself worth getting revived!
i'm prone about 90% of the time when I revive. The other 10% are for high danger, necessary revives (SL is down pushing on a flag) and his body is between me an the enemy. Also, if the body is just in front of a building and crouching will expose my body at point blank range.
I know that when i'm opposing someone, I want them to hit the deck.
Additionally, especially from medium to long range, the biggest dangers to a reviver are nades and rockets. In this case, being harder to hit by bullets is irrelevant. It's all about your ability to move away from incoming rockets.
