An outside perspective tactics review
First off let me go into who I am for background. I played BF2 and BF2142 for years but recently was pulled away from all gaming due to the US Army "surge" and spent 15 or so months overseas employing a lot of the tactics that you guys use nightly on your server. With that real life experience I would just like to talk a moment or two about my experience on your server.
Being a squad leader in real life AND having played the role numerous times I want to throw some props out to your squad leaders from last night when I was on the server. My player tag was The.Link and I had an absolute noob kit. My old account got haxed while I was deployed so I was rocking a bare assault.
I found your squad leaders both knowledgeable and courteous. I hopped into one squad and was instantly queried about kit. After telling of my void of unlocks I was politely asked to find another squad because it was going to be an engineer centric squad. I was gracious for that and not just an instant squad kick you'll see so many other places.
Tactics wise I found that you guys really worked well as a team on the variety of maps I played. You worked well on infantry based maps and also with the vehicle dominant maps.
All in all I was impressed and once I flesh out my kits a bit I'll most likely be returning for more good experiences. I think you're running a top notch crew and props to you for that.

Well, welcome to TG. Typically you will find this in the servers.

So you are a Sergeant (in real life)? That's pretty cool!!!!

Re: An outside perspective tactics review
I note that your in Iowa Penguin. I'm currently living in Des Moines, wife's from Iowa. But that's a tangent for another time.
Yea I was active duty for 7 years, am doing a year of National Guard then my contract is done. Working as a Network Administrator now. Kids change your perspective.
I will definitely be coming back to the TG server for some fun. I am unlocking support kit first for shotgun fun, it's my personally preferred play style, right in your face. Eventually I'll flesh out the SL unlocks and be poking my neck out trying to score a squad.

Big-eye101: "A true catman post a day keeps the bad mood away"
Due to my most recent psych evaluation (due to the last court case I had listed), I again must disclose the following. Please do not take any posts made by Catman seriously, we have found defects in his thought processes that lead him sometimes to act as, what the internet would call a forum troll. He feels any attention is better than no attention and must have it at all costs, even his own dignity, well if he had any left. If you begin to take his posts seriously, please call us you are in need of serious psychiatric attention. We are available 24/7 at 1-800-OMGIMNUTS, please scream into the phone as soon as it's answered, we will identify you as a catman follower from that and direct your call to someone who can attend to you immediately.

Re: An outside perspective tactics review
I have no issues with that request Catman. It was an engineer based squad on defense and the SL was very polite. I just hopped to a squad that was assault/support centric and more up my gameplay alley and it went splendidly.

Re: An outside perspective tactics review
Get a defib ASAP and you'll have the main essential piece of kit for anyone on the servers.
This may help if you're not sure about unlocks when playing on the TG2142 server.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

Re: An outside perspective tactics review
I found last night that I could just follow my squad and almost instantly pick up a kit from a dead man with defib, rockets, and unlocked rifle for assault. Then immediately I would grab my own Defib for "on spawn" from field unlock since your squads work well enough to warrant one of those within the first few moments of play.

Re: An outside perspective tactics review
And yes, I'm sitting at work bored, watching servers and waiting for a phone call about a problem so I'm trolling your forums pretty heavily and responding a lot.
